Goodness...! It's good that nothing worse happened to you. Hopefully the bike is really safe now... I always buy second-hand too, but I make sure it's been technically checked and is in top condition. Maybe a compulsory MOT, like we have in Germany, would be a good idea after all? In any case, get well soon!
