Operation Research.
Operation Research is one of the most important subject in applied mathematics. I think applied mathematics can't fulfill its space without Operation Research. I am a student of applied mathematics. I have a 4 credit course on Operation Research. Today I tell briefly about this section.
There are many mathematicians who have described Operation Research. But it is very hard job to clarify this subjectbecause its limit changes after time to time. In spite od that, some mathematicians described it very well. Such as:
Pocock states that Operation Research (OR) is the scientific methodolog, analytical, experimental and quantitivewhich by assigning the overall implicationsof various coursesof actions is a management system, provides an improved basis of management system.
OR is a problem solving and decision making science. OR is important because it creates implementable solutions to complex business challenges. It use data to create informations, use them to find out the most suitable way of going in front. Also try to find out the most risky and dangerous path. By this, it also helps us to to eliminate the uncertainty in business management. The uncertainty around a managing of a business and the process associated with that business can be challenging for individual, so having reliable datacan resolve challenges and instill confidence. Which is the importance of OR.
There are a lot of sections to imply OR. You can use OR in finance, accounting, marketing, personnel, constructions, facilities planning, manufacturer, purchasing, maintenance and scheduling, research and development ect.
At last, there are a lot of advantage of OR. It provides a good grip over the problems, indicates the limitations and domain of the activity, provides a logical, scientific and systematic approach of the problems. So it can say that OR can help us in a great context within the most reliable way.
So I think one should study about this subject. Obviuosly it is very interesting subject because all of the sections of this subject is related to our life.
