RE: Europe experienced high electricity prices in 2022 and 2023, part 4 Installs solar panels
Hi @xpilar, that is a good decision to switch to solar, nowadays the prices are more affordable, we also were thinking about that, but currently we have to decide if we invest more in our slowly progressing work inside of the house which seems to be more important, but solar panels are also not completely off the table.
It looks that you have done very good work already, hope you manage to finish before it becomes cold. With the colour I wonder why have you decided to take black, is it so to get more warmth from sun?
By the way, I heard that the electricity prices in Norway very cheep, is that true?
The roof was finished today and the electrician connected the solar panels, now I'm just waiting for our electricity supplier to be ready because then we can also sell the excess electricity. And next week it will be connected to a router so that I can monitor the production of electricity.
Black gives more heat from the sun, but that's not why we chose black
We saw another house with the same horizontal wooden cladding as we have and it was freshly painted black and it looked great.
The price of electricity in Norway is very reasonable now because the water pools are full. But prices will soon rise again when Norway sells a lot of electricity abroad.
