Café on the Train, Railway Station- Dalat

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago (edited)

The city of Da Lat is home to many fancy coffee shops. There are hundreds of coffee shops in this city and they attract a variety of customers: the locals, the ex-pats, and newcomers. It's really hard to pick the best coffee shop in Dalat when there are so many eye-catching ones. But there is somewhere special and you can learn about history and architecture, sounds interesting? Let's take a ride to the Railway Station in Da Lat-the most poetic and romantic city in Viet Nam !!

I didn't expect much from the railway station as I first heard of it. When I came here, I was very surprised since it is not an ordinary railway as I had imagined. The place has public architectural value, is a treasure of history, and is a source of pride to the locals.

Da Lat Railway Station is a stunning example of neoclassical architecture in the country built by the French colonial authorities in 1932. It is a National Historic Site and is considered an important part of the history of Vietnam. The building has been restored to its original grandeur with high ceilings, large windows that filter light into the space, and a chandelier that is still in working order after all these years.

Located at the foot of Langbiang Mountains which is 18 kilometers away from downtown Da Lat, the railway station was initially used to transport goods and passengers from Da Lat to Nha Trang. Nowadays, however, there is only the Da Lat - Trai Mat linestation currently operated. The place now become one of the tourist destinations in the city, and the popular spot for a photography shoot.

As soon as I got to the railway, I was impressed with the old yellow color and unique architecture. I felt like I was transported back in time because of how historic it looked. I also noticed that there were not many people around which made it seem quite eerie at times. As I continued walking through the station, I started noticing how fantastic the surroundings were and how friendly everyone was.

I walked past the flower shop, I felt like the flowers are calling to me; they are begging for me to come inside 😅. The fresh flowers and plants are a delight to look at and touch, of course, I took some photos of them.

If you are a fan of fresh flowers and fruit every day of the year, Dalat may just be your new favorite destination. Located in Vietnam, Dalat sits on a plateau with benign temperatures all year round that allow for optimal growing conditions. In this warm climate, you can enjoy an orchard of mango trees, cherry trees, or peach trees while tending to some colorful flower beds of roses and cacti.

Apart from the sight and lovely garden, there are also a few souvenir shops, a portrait artist, and a guitarist adding to the beauty of the scene.

There are few coffee shops around, but I am impressed with the cafes on the old carriage. The taste of the coffee here wasn't as great as other shops I've tried, but when I went to visit this one, I was really happy with what I got. It was not busy and overpriced like other cafes we had been to.

As I walk into this quaint café, I can't help but feel like I'm back in the past decades. The soft melodious music, along with the chilly atmosphere is so soothing and relaxing. With vintage furniture and decorations, you'll feel right at home when you walk in. It's not uncommon for people to come to the café to sip a nice cup of hot tea or coffee while enjoying the atmosphere.

Gazing out the window, I can see the garden consisting of some small trees, some flowers, and some plants; it's probably not much but it makes me happy. On this gorgeous day, these outside plants are just what I needed.

If you want to visit Da Lat Railway Station for sightseeing, make sure to buy a ticket before entering the station. (10.000-20.000 vnd). There are many things to do in the railway station including shopping, dining, sightseeing, and tourist activities (There will be a 7 km train route through the town where visitors can explore the highland landscapes.)

The railway Da Lat provides an excellent place for people who like photography since you'll be able to see all sorts of different scenery along your journey. The scenery is beautiful no matter where you look, so it's worth taking your time to soak it all in.
