The World of XPILAR - B&W PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #216 (Sculpture art)

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 days ago

It's no news that the first camera detected only two colours which were black and white. No matter the richness of colour a person will wear, then the camera will translate it to black and white respectively. That's why we noticed that films produced during that era has its white and black characteristics. What if we were able to teleport back in time to use this amazing camera piece. In this publication, let's see how modern pictures would have looked in the era of black and white cameras.

PICTURE 1

This picture was titled by the sculptor "Cultural Mulatto". It's actually a mixture of western and native dress code. In the picture, We see a man wearing a piece of suit over a traditional wrapper which represents the Ibibio tribe in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The sculptor made this in such a way that the dressing blends without suspicion of the onlookers. One can really see the difference on a closer look. I would love to commend the sculptor who did this masterpiece.

PICTURE 2

Another picture is an artwork which the sculptor tagged "Strength of motherhood". In the image, We see mother wielding a shield while carrying a child. The sacrifice a mother have to make daily is something worth of a warrior. In our lives, we can testify that our mothers has played a role that is very important to our survival. Personally, I call my mom "my first love" because her sacrifices and efforts are truly selfless. So, likewise everyone, this sculpture truly means a lot.

PICTURE 3

This picture is tagged by the owner "Agony of the mother of twins". If anyone has been with any mother of a twin, you'll discover that the pains is something that is not explainable. Imagine trying to satisfy a baby, then the second one will drag attention of that same mother. My mother will know that the agony which is now her pride now. My twin siblings are now the testimony after years of perseverance.

I invite @bossj23, @pandora2010 and @nsijoro to this contest.

Common every picture you displayed here has a significance, when I looked at the first heading cultural mullato, the mullato to me sounded like a disorder because I haven't heard of such a word until now, this is a complete display of how a country colonised by a nation with a different culture is, take for instance we Nigerians colonised by the Britain have adopted the western culture and this doesn't lay to the dust our cultural heritage,

Truly this is a cultural mullato, it actually represents something special but I won't try this mixture because it will show odd unless I am wearing it for a drama presentation or maybe skit making but it obvious my handle on most Web are dormant for now because of blogging on Steemit but at least, I got a window now so everything will be quite easy than ever, the speed, opening of multiple tabs and windows and all of that.

The craftsman is a very intelligent fellow and I appreciate him for this excellent work done, in offices we put on our suits that if the environment is conducive that is there is an air conditioner or if not we put on something lighter or may be without a tie, in traditional marriage we go native, senator dressing, and the tiring of traditional wrappers, with a walking stick serving as the third leg with a unique color combination. The western culture has infiltrate so much in us, that in even in villages we rarely tie wrapper, our grandfather or with trouser to climb the palm fruits tree or tap palm wine, it wasn't so before.

I stand to appreciate should we promote cultures by organise end of the year event on first or second terms here to bring to reminiscence the obviously looked down or should I say forgotten culture, bring to light it's importance, here we see children learnt to say proverbs with their local dialect.

For the last two images, the mother with the shield is protecting her child during the war, I think that should be in the world war.

The one that draws my attention the most is the last image, I know it is not easy to raise a child, the agony of this money is the run for safety knowing that this twins will be killed, twins were killed those days and mother hearts skipped when they deliver twins, this woman managed to hid this kids till they were grown up I think and as it is always said nothing is hidden under the sun, I feel she get discovered by and she decides to run for safety, thanks God for Mary slessor who came with the explanation of how twins came about and pursuit the movement to stop the killing of twins. Thanks for inviting me, Merry Christmas to you my friend....

When it comes to art, every artist has their purpose in mind trying to create something worth thinking about. The cultural mullato is just an iconic one. Thanks for your valuable comment ☺️
