THE WITCHER: THE ORIGIN OF THE BLOOD
Netflix has given us a Christmas gift: a mini-season of The Witcher set 1200 years before the events of the original series, titled The Origin of Blood.
The series takes us to discover how elves, humans, and monsters came together in the same world during the Conjunction of the Spheres, and promises to reveal how witchers were created.
⚔️ The Beginning of the Story
We are on a battlefield sometime after the events of The Witcher season 2. Jaskier, now known as San Paper, is about to be killed by mercenaries. Just before they kill him, time stops, and Jaskier hallucinates that it was a creature—initially resembling a Doppler—that saved him.
The creature tells him that it is a collector of stories and that it is responsible for spreading them through time so that they will never be forgotten.
To aid the Scoia'tael in their fight, the creature chooses Jaskier to tell him the legend of the Seven, a story that stretches back many years and begins with the Lark.
🛡️ The Union of the Seven
Éile and Fjall recruit the warrior Scían, the sole survivor of the Ghost Clan. She joins them in exchange for the return of her stolen sword, kept in Cintra. During their journey, they meet Callan, known as Brother Death, who seeks revenge against the Golden Empire.
They then encounter the sorceress Zacaré and the wizard Syndril, who tell them about the portals and the dangers of chaos magic.
Balor, in his ambition, sacrifices children to gain more power, obeying the orders of the entity that manipulates him.
Syndril explains that, in addition to killing the Empress and Balor, they must destroy the central monolith of Cintra. The six open a portal to reach it, but end up in another dimension and are attacked by a giant monster before managing to return.
Meanwhile, Merwyn, disguised as a commoner, discovers the people's hunger and the abuses of the Empire. She blackmails Eredin, commander of the armies, into forming an alliance to colonize new dimensions. A seventh member joins the six: Meldof, a dwarven warrior who fights with a hammer forged from the ashes of her beloved Gwen.
