The floods and landslides that recently hit Aceh province have left deep traces.

The scale of the disaster's impact was enormous, with 18 of Aceh's 23 districts/cities affected, with a total of 3310 villages flooded. This tragedy claimed 325 lives, while another 170 are still reported missing.

Damage to infrastructure and housing reached alarming levels. A total of 78,076 houses were damaged, while important roads, bridges connecting districts and cities, and several main highways were severely damaged or even cut off by landslides and floods.
