Got My Favourite Delicacy And Visited the Local Market Today

Good day, everyone! I hope you're all doing well and in good health. My day began with a search for my favorite delicacy, "waakye." In Ghana, this is one of the most popular meals, with people eating it at all hours of the day. Many individuals, including myself, prefer to eat first thing in the morning.

My favorite waakye spot is on the side of the road, so that's where I went from home. Because there were not many people at the establishment, it didn't take long to obtain a 10 Ghana cedis waakye (equal to 3 steem).

This dish combines all of the very nutritious vegetable combinations with brown rice, beef, fish, egg, and "gari-cassava flour" prepared from grated or processed cassava. Why wouldn't it be a popular delicacy among many people.

I moved inside the main market, which is near to the waakye joint, after getting that. This was about accompanying my wife to pick grab some groceries. Abuakwa market is known for the wide variety of foodstuffs available at low prices, and this is where we acquir all our groceries.

We came to a local rice vendor who also sold smoky fish and other spices. These smoke fish locally known as "adwene" is delicious, and they are the ideal fish for most of our local cuisines. It is for this reason that it is so pricey. One can cost up to 30 cedis, which is usually the case with the larger ones. We bought some of local rice and onions before leaving the market.

Before returning home, I went on a few rounds with my wife. We were able to spend some time outside today because the kids were in school and there was no work. It was wonderful to spend a few hours outside.
