After the unfortunate thing happened within the week were the late Queen Elizabeth II passed on, the round of matches in the premier for the weekend has been postponed.

The board of the English premier league made a decision on cancelling the weekend games yesterday on Friday, September 9 2022 after voting unanimously on the decision. This simply means that the league games that would have been played have been postponed.

This is decision was contrarily to other sports sectors where they rather decided to play in other to honor the queen. Criticism come when those decisions were made known to the public and sports such us rugby union and cricket and those playing to honor her.

Sources confirm that the premier league clubs are afraid they might be another postponement of the next weekend fixtures because of the funeral. The funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II is expected to be done on September 19 2022. The clubs believe there could be possible changes in the top flight where the next matches would be postponed.

Tottenham Hotspur will be expected to host Leicester City and Arsenal facing Brentford while Chelsea will host Liverpool, are some of the high tough matches expected to happen at London. According to the news there might be a short of security personal to help ensure that all these activities take place effectively.

Majority of the clubs are worried about the fact that there is not enough space to help them organized fixtures in what is already called packed fixtures for further postponement. As a result, most teams have the feeling that the board should allow them to go ahead and play rather than having it reschedule to another time which might even be more packed.

Postponement of the second weekend seems a little bit weird to me if they are going to consider how the fixtures of the league is packed. I hope the have a better view of the whole solution.
