NEWCOMER GUIDE - OBSERVATIONS I HAVE MADE IN MY WORK AS A GREETER

in Steem Ghana4 years ago

Hello everyone,

I would like to draw your attention to some things I have noticed during the course of my steem greeting activities. Newcomers are to take notice of these things so that they can fully appreciate how the steemit ecosystem works well as understand what is expected of them during achievement task verification.

CLAIMING OF REWARDS

One of the things some newcomers fail to do is to claim their rewards when the post finally pays out. I try my best to leave comments guiding users to do so but at times it lands on death ears. I am therefore pleading on various recruiters to guide these users to do so. Also, to the few who might not know how to go about this, here is how to do so.

  • First log into your steemit account (https://steemit.com/@yourusername) with your posting key and visit notifications.

  • Click Redeem to claim your reward.

  • After a successful claim of reward, you should see Claim Successful which means your reward would now be accessible from your wallet.

There are other ways to claim reward automatically which can be seen in the post below

How do I claim rewards in Steemit-- (Manually and Auto-Claim)?

If it is still not quite clear, I would be happy to answer any follow up questions you may have.

AVOID USING WATERMARKED IMAGES

In reviewing some of the achievement posts, I noticed that some of our members are fond of using watermarked images which are clearly copyrighted to make posts. This act is not allowed on steemit and new recruits must be told promptly about this before they start utilizing such images in their posts.

To use images, first make sure that they are from copyright-free sources and properly cite them as well. Here are some copyright-free sites to obtain images from.

You can then properly site your source as with the markdown below.

For a better outlook with the center markdown, it will look like this,

PUT MORE EFFORTS IN YOUR ACHIEVEMENT POSTS

I have noticed that some of our users are simply in a hurry to get their achievement posts verified so they simply just fulfill the requirement without bothering to really understand and appreciate what it teaches. This only goes against you in the long run because if the post looks rushed, we will redirect you to make the necessary corrections. And if the post simply fulfills the requirement, you won't get the same vote as someone whose post did.

In steem greeting, we use a rating system to give the highest reward to the great content creators and the least to the sloppy ones. If you have observed in the comment sections, greeter helper and greeters may leave and of the following curator remarks.

  • Rating 1
  • Rating 2
  • Rating 3

You must therefore give out your best in doing these tasks as you will learn more and would also boost your account as you receive higher curation.

USE THE PROPER TAGS

The use of the right tags is very essential in our greeting activities as this is the way achievement posts are identified.

What is do is I first use the https://steemit.com/created/ghana and start working my way up from the bottom to try and spot all the achievement tasks that have been made then review them accordingly. Failure to include this makes it difficult for your post to be found.

Also, use the corresponding tag to your achievement in the tag session of your editor

So if it is an achievement 1 post you have written, be sure to add #achievement1 as the tag and for achievement 2, put #achievement2, in that order.

The verification of ahievement tasks are currently being worked on so kindly exercise patience while we do so and do not panic, we will surely review yours.

Thank you for your attention.

Thank you for this

My pleasure buddy, keep rocking

Very educative bro. I hope the newbies will get something out from it

Hopefully, we'll see a positive impact

I am ver happy my achievement 2 has finally been verified.I have found a good motivation to continue with the other ones.

I'm glad. But don't feel demoralized when your post isn't verified.

You can continue to the next.

We will come always come and check the previous ones and provide guidelines where necessary.

When I joined some of these things I learnt on my own so if you are teaching us about these things, I believe it on the right path. Good work 👍 bro

Certainly! It is our hope to see enormous growth here.

Very education process what if you redeem your rewards then you can't see redeem success are you good to go @njaywan that so helpful now we know the right tags for achievement posts

If you don't see the Claim Successful, you should refresh your notification tab and it will reappear if it wasn't successful.

Or you can always check with https://steemworld.org/@gida where you can view all your activity.

Thanks brother njaywan for your guidelines. It's well noted.

Glad I could help.
