THE DAIRY GAME: MY RICE HARVESTING PROCESS

in Steem Ghana2 years ago

Hellooooo fellow steemians, I am very grateful once again to be here after having been busy on the farm at the village over some period of time. I hope by the grace of God every member is kicking strongly?

Here is my first dairy post since I went to the village to help harvest our rice. I returned from the village to Navrongo town on the 1st of this month in search of a rice trasher.

I woke up at 6:00am on Thursday , to start writing my laboratory report for the end of attachment, which is a summary of all what I have learnt from the practice program. After I have wrote some few words, I then went into the washroom and brushed my teeth and picked a motorbike out in search of a rice trasher. I returned home to go and help send the machine to the farm to help trash and convey the rice to the house for storage. This is normally the stressful part of the farming process, especially getting a machine due to their scarcity in the village, so I had to manage and organize one from town to the village so that we would do everything fast before they start burning the bushes, as some farmers were victims of their rice getting burnt last year.

We got to the farm with the machine around 10am and the trashing started at around 12pm. Due to how plenty the rice was, we couldn’t finish all with that day so we had to leave everything there and return home. We went as early as 7am the following day and continued trashing. We finished trashing all the rice and the time
was still 12pm, so we had to start with the conveying.

The conveying of the rice was the hardest of all. There is a river across the path, so anytime we load and we got there, we had to remove about three bags down and push the rest across and then come back and pick those we removed with hands back into the tricycle. As a result of this stress, we went only three times so that continued the following day.

On the next day, we continued and loaded about five times of the tricycle. We finished as early as 1pm, and we packed all the sacks and tapolenes home.
The Trasher owner, the tricycle owner and all those who helped during the harvest were all paid and the work was finally over.

This is a summary of the harvest process, thank you all🙏🏽
