I have taken a special interest in educating users through my blog about pollution. This time around I will be talking about water pollution and how it affects our environment.

Air pollution can be described as the contamination of air. This can be caused by so many things and some are chemicals substances, dust particles. The things that we say cause the pollution can be referred to as pollutants, in the situation of air pollution we will refer to them as air pollutants. In Africa as large we are faced with this great problem and though there have been method and ways proposed to control air pollution, it is seen that it us rather on the rise.

Now let us look at the causes of air pollution, its effects and how we can control it.

There are so many agents it air pollution, and in this chapter, we will be looking at a few important ones.

• Industry waste.

This has always been a problem for us, most industries burn and when they are burning the only way they can bring out the smoke is by using chimneys to bring the smoke out. The chimneys are designed in a way that as soon as the smoke comes out, it goes into the air and the atmosphere is polluted by the smoke.

• Bush fires.

When the dry season approaches, the amount of bush fires that occur is alarming. Because as soon as the bushes are set on fire, they tend to burn more than they were intended and then the number of pollutants that are released into the atmosphere is bad. Even if the bush is not burned very much because it is the dry season the dry air mixes with the pollutants so easily and hence they are carried along rather easily.

• Natural causes.

As I said earlier, we have agents of air pollution, some of which are caused artificially and some are due to natural processes. Some of the natural processes are the decaying of substances. When an animal dies it has to decay, the decaying comes with an unpleasant smell.

After looking at the causes of air pollution let's take a look at the effects of air pollution. There are numerous effects of air pollution both on the environment and the living organisms on the earth at large.

• Acid rain

The smoke that we are kit able to control goes deep into the skies and it affects the way we see rain output. Sometimes it can alter how regular it rains in a geographical area. It can also cause acid rain to be poured down because the clouds will be contaminated and the only water that can come out as rain will be acid rain.

• Global warming.

Global warming is the effect of long term air pollution we have not been able to control in the past. Due to this, we see that the heat is gradually increasing and it is becoming unbearable for us and our lives.

• Heart problems.

Air Pollution doesn't only affect the earth but it also affects the living organisms ok the planet earth. Sometimes the air pollutants that are produced can find their way into the lungs of us humans and then in the long run we are affected by heart diseases or otherwise referred to as respiratory diseases.

After looking at the cause and also the effects Of air pollution, let's take a look at how we can control it a bit.

• Avoid burning bushes.

There are many ways by which we can kill grass if we want to use the land. If we cannot wait for the natural process of the grads dying out we can at least weed those grasses off instead of burning them.

• We should make sure to bury any dead organism we see lying around

Death is a natural process and whenever we see an organism lying down dead, the least we can do is to help bury the animal to prevent any scents from spreading into the environment.

• Instead of burning, we should recycle.

Recycling waste products has been one of the best ways to help prevent the burning of rubbish which can lead to air pollution.
