My brother and I leaving home for the farm

We left home around 11AM. There are about six of us my dad, myself and four of my brothers. We have a lot of work ahead of us at the farm so we’re going to be staying there for a day or 2, sonI have my back pack stuffed with some clothes and supplies.

On the dusty road of Pigu village to the farm

My dad‘s Farm is at a place called Pigu. We got to Pigu at 12PM, an hour after we departed and we waited for the tractor to arrive so we could start work. When the tractor got here, we spread some rubber cover on the floor to collect soya seeds that might fall off while we work.

The Tractor stands on the rubber spread so that any seeds that fall under it while we work can be easily collected after we’re done

The work itself started by cutting soya from the pile gathered here and feeding it into the corn seller machine connected to the Tractor. This separates the seeds to come out through the back and spits away the residue or thrash left. My kid brother is squatting there collecting the seeds into basin and pouring it into a sack.

We put the soya into the corn seller machine and the soya seeds cole out through the back where it is collected into a basin and poured into a sack

We worked for only 2 hours and the machine broke down. It seemed like one of the metal parts of the machine broke and the Tractor owner had to take it into the village to weld.

We were hungry and tired at this point anyways. We went into our mud tent, took some food, prayed, rested for close to 2 hours when the Tractor guy came back with the welded metal and got the Tractor running again.

Great diary.

Nice work you did on the farm today. I think these machines always require maintenance in order to prevent such breakages from happening.

Yes. According to the Tractor guy, this was not the first time this happened. He said that particular piece of metal has broken too many times and normally works for a week before it gets broken again. It really slowed down our work.

Wow it's good to see you doing what we are known for

What we’re know for is so tiring. Lol
