My Introduction to Steemwomen Club Community | A Stronger Community

Let me introduce my self to the strong women club community who inspires me with a lot of things in life now a days especially knowing this team better and learn a lot from this community like how women becomes stronger than ever.

My name is Lorna Shenk and I have been here in steemit few years back, started before I got married. I am the youngest in the family of 10 members that includes my Mama, Papa and 7 siblings.

I am a wife and soon to be a mother. Family is my main priority.

Before I got married (be a bride), I have tried to be a bridesmaid multiple times. Though I thought I wouldn't have chance to be a bride in the future but that doesn't allow me to lose hope and faith that someday at the right time I could have my own set of bridesmaids. And it did!

I worked as a public school teacher in the city where I grew up. I teach science (my major) and values education, but I would prefer to teach values education as it relates a lot of things in life and that I could impart more to my students the importance of life, respect, values, family, and everything that one's need to know.

Before the pandemic and got stranded here in my own country where I lose my job and no sense of income, I had my job as an english and science teacher in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The students there are a lot respectful, though we have a communication barrier, both parties are trying to learn the english language and I was also doing my best to learn a little bit of theirs. Though its a foreign country but I had a Filipino community in the area and had more than five other Filipino teachers with me in the same school.

I love to travel and going to other places is one of my greatest pleasure in life. I usually go to the beach, sometimes climb a mountain, or travel in domestic places in the country. Try new things, sometimes extreme but the feeling after that is really good.

I really enjoy cooking. I think I got that from my mother, she is a good cook too. I love judging a cooking contest that makes me able to see how students or contestants are doing great job, with hard work. I love being a contestant too! it gives me chances to know colleagues far better and how I could interact with them further.

To make self beautiful is mostly my thing, though my confidence tells me that I am beautiful (as a strong woman should think) I also enjoy putting make-up to my friends or even kids who have had activities in their school. I just love their confidence to ask me to be their make up artist.
