NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST | CAPTURING THE NIGHT | Evening Walk
The evening walk after work was like a soothing break from a busy day. The air was already cool and crisp, after the brief afternoon rain, and darkness was slowly enveloping the city. I walked along the wet sidewalk, each step making a soft clatter, its surface reflecting the street lights like a mirror, some bright, others scattered, creating a vague but beautiful glow. In the distance ahead of me, I could see the last golden glow of the setting sun, reminding me of the day that was passing by.
Before long, the light of the sunset was fading, and instead only the lights of passing cars and street lamps remained, casting long shadows on the wet asphalt. The air was calm, and the streets seemed to fall asleep, swallowed by the night. As I passed the buildings, I could feel the day gradually giving way to evening and the peace that came with it.
As I approached my house, my footsteps were quieter, and the street itself seemed even quieter, with the sound of a distant car and the faint rustle of the wind. I passed the last streetlight, and in that moment I felt almost part of the darkness, enveloping but not scary. I stepped into the entryway, closed the door behind me, and let myself be enveloped in the warmth of the home, where the evening could continue in silence after all the hustle and bustle of the day. This is how my day ended. I wish good times to everyone! :)
