a tour of Bergamo
This weekend I took the opportunity to visit Bergamo, a city that in my opinion is a little underrated in Italy but which has many beauties to show, especially from an artistic and architectural point of view, and I must say that I found a lot of people so it means that it is a very popular destination not only for Italians but also for foreign tourists.
It is always very impressive to find yourself in a simple square and have in front of you an architectural masterpiece like the fountain built in 1780 and located in Piazza Vecchia in the highest and in my opinion most beautiful part of Bergamo.
Anyway, getting back to us, Bergamo is practically located about 50 km from Milan and is famous for its medieval style and for the walls that surround it, but above all, as I was telling you, the most beautiful part is the upper part where you can also find the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore with the Colleoni Chapel. And the nice thing for a tourist who wants to visit this city is that nearby there is an important airport, Orio al Serio airport, which surrounds it with many international destinations.
and certainly when I come to these parts I can't resist the delicious cuisine that is here, especially I can't resist eating this delicious hand-made pasta that can only be found here in Bergamo, and after having eaten it I go away truly happy with this culinary experience.
And what's the last thing to do before leaving? Before leaving Bergamo? To go up high and see Bergamo Alta from above with its towers and churches that form this very beautiful and truly particular but unique skyline!
