Our Trip to Klagenfurt

Hello everyone. We recently visited the city of Klagenfurt in Austria. It's a city with just about 100,000 residents. What's interesting is that it used to be part of Slovenia and its former name was Celovec. Our friends from Slovenia joined us on this trip. And they were curious to see the city too. It was right before Christmas. We rented a furnished apartment for a few days.

The apartment we stayed in was quite spacious, with a kitchen and a living room. The kitchen had everything you could need, and it was clear that designers had put some thought into it. The apartment had a large balcony and it also had separate bedrooms. There was a large, beautiful bed with lovely mustard-colored velvet throws and cushions. The lamps were quite unique too. It was a very comfortable apartment.

In any European city, you'll usually find a church in the city center and in Klagenfurt, it was St. Egyd Parish Church on Pfarrplatz square. It had a tall tower with an observation platform 50 meters high, offering a stunning panoramic view of Klagenfurt's city center, Lake Wörthersee, the Karawanken mountains and the Koralpe mountains. There was a sign with information in four languages, including Slovenian.

We decided to climb to the top of the church to get a bird's eye view of the city. There was a long staircase and it took a while to reach the top. An interesting detail was that they had added some sort of protection to prevent people from writing on the walls, so there were no graffiti marks.

To access the observation platform, you had to pay 4 euros per adult. What was curious about this platform was that you had to climb for about half an hour, huffing and puffing, without knowing whether you'd have to pay or not until you reached the top. Our friends said Klagenfurt looked a lot like Ljubljana, especially the hill in front of us, which reminded them of Rožnik Hill in the center of Ljubljana.

We thought we were at the central square. There was a beautiful, lively Christmas tree, but there was hardly anyone around. This was what Klagenfurt looked like on New Year's Eve; there was a fancy Christmas tree with towers on both sides, but it was pretty quiet.

On New Year's Eve, we were in the city center of Klagenfurt. There was a lively concert with a rock band playing and everyone was dancing. The interesting thing was that you could hardly find any Austrians here. Most of the people were tourists from Turkey.

We welcomed 2024 with Vienna waltz melodies playing in the background. The large fireworks show in the city was quite beautiful. There were lovely cobblestone streets and a charming atmosphere.

We visited the suburbs of Klagenfurt and went to a local attraction, the Pyramidenkogel Tower. The tower stands at a height of 120 meters. One unique feature of this tower is that it has a metal slide for getting back down—you can slide from 120 meters high. You can also use the elevator or the stairs if you prefer, but sliding down the metal tube is a thrilling option.

From the Pyramidenkogel Tower, we enjoyed a spectacular view of Lake Wörthersee. Sliding down the tube cost 4.5 euros. We didn't want to miss out on this fun experience.

There is an amazing children's playground around the tower, so kids won't get bored here. The entrance fee to the Pyramidenkogel Tower is 15 euros, but you can get a discount to 12 euros if you download a special app. If you want to slide down the tube, it costs an additional 4.5 euros.

On January 1st, the temperature was 14 degrees Celsius and we took a walk by the lake. There were small houses with names like Klagenfurt, Villach and others written on them.

Apparently, this lake is so large that people refer to it as "the sea." We bought cotton candy, which costs 1 euro to make but sells for 4 euros, yielding a 400% profit.

On January 2nd, all the stores in Klagenfurt reopened and life resumed its normal pace. We went to Zara. There's a Zara in our city, but the products here were different.

Shopping centers started operating again, but it was time to go home. Our New Year's holiday had come to an end. We added another unforgettable memory to our collection of New Year's Eve experiences.

You have a lovely collection of images from the place you have visited. I must say a neat collection. Klagenfurt seems like another beautiful place that you have presented here. Let me admit, I haven't had a chance to visit Eastern Europe, and the one I was offered during my onsite training, I declined that. Now I regret why I did that. Keep posting, and keep rocking.
