Travel contest #8: Travel Gone Wrong, but I survived
Hello my dear Steemians,
When I recall my travelling experience then for this topic I have a story with travelling with train. It was the time of October holidays and I wanted to visit my friend Jess in Wales. Actually there are many different way of travelling from London to Wales. Some people prefer to take cars because then you do not need to care about time and only what you need is fuel and good driving car.
As to me I knew that travelling with train will give me a chance of having some reading, maybe sleeping and also restaurant, so a lot of comfort.
When I arrived to train station I came earlier and bought some drink for me, I then went to my platform and waited. It was Sunday and actually it is often on weekend there is a case that some train lines might get cancelled I did not think about that I had my music with me and also my ear phones. While waiting I did not pay attention to the announcement and also I did not pay attention that people slowly left that platform. Only when it was about 5 minute before the scheduled train I looked around and took my ear phones off.
Only then I noticed that there was an announcement that my train was cancelled completely and people either could get money back or re-schedule it. It was disaster for me because my train was not direct and I have to take a second train later and it was only 10 minutes between.
I went to information and asked them to help me, the only what they could tell is that for today I will not be able to catch a second train so better reschedule on other day or I could just take a bus which will be much longer but still will arrive.
I was on platform and was completely upset. I phone another friend of mine Joe and asked if he would like to travel to Wales because he had a car. My friend after hearing my story was happy to bring me to and I paid for fuel. We started our trip at 12 pm and arrived after 9PM, we were tired but Jess was happy that we managed to arrive. She already prepared great food and we just wanted to have some rest. Joe has travelled back home on following day and me and Jess, we stayed a week together exploring Wales.
