Looks like this is in front of a nightclub. Nightclub security is talking to a guy. In a couple of minutes, the guy puts his hands in his pocket. Now if you are in a situation where you see and feel the guy is about to attack you, you have to be careful.

You cannot underestimate this. As soon as the guy grabs his knife and starts attacking, the whole situation will be changed. The security guy did a great job. He pays close attention and he grabs the guy's hand and holds it behind so that you cannot start stabbing easily.

In this situation, you can still talk to the attacker, of course, that depends on your observation of the situation. We are just watching this video, we do not know the whole situation.

At some point, the guy keeps his hand to the side and the security officer still holds his hand. Here there is something you should keep in mind. If you hold the hand above the elbow, the attacker can bend his elbow and start stabbing you.

To stop him from doing that, you can hold his hand on the elbow or just below the elbow. If you see that the situation is not improving, you have to make your move. And the security officer did that. Make a little distance and attack him.

So was it necessary to attack the guy for self defense?

We can comment about yes or not, but if you are in that situation, you know exactly what you have to do based on your observation. And you have to take action to defend yourself.
