Bridgerton: During the Regency era on England, eight close-knit siblings of the close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family attempts to find love.

Bridgerton is an American streaming drama series created by Chris Van System and produced by Shonda Rhimes under her production house Shondaland from the adaptation of Julia Quinn Novel.

This series is one that has stolen the heart of many movie lovers including yours sincerely. The drama has a uniqueness to it that compels it's audience to stay glued to the screen until the episodes run through.

It's plot is one of the Bridgertons with their children named in an alphabetical order ( Anthony, Benedict, Colin and Gregory and her four daughters, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca and Hyacinth), to the Featherington in their "P" ( Philippa, Prudence and Penelope) selection.

The first season which aired on the 25th of December revolves around Daphne(Phoebe Dynevor) the eldest Bridgerton daughter as she debuts into the competitive marriage market.
As in the Regency Era, balls are organised where young women are introduced to young men who then received a call to their houses if any of ladies captures the mind of the men.

Secondary Characters are introduced with Anthony who dates in secret an Opera singer , who is seen as one from the wrong side of the Society and who could bring scandal to the family name. Eloise, the second daughter whose character has no interest in marriage rather in uncovering a mystery author and Benedict the second son that loves to paint but doesn't have courage to make it known.

Featherington's are also thrust into limelight with their mothers stiffness and attempts to make sure that her daughters are also noticed by this eligible bachelors.

Whistledown publications are one it's readers look out for and yet dreads who will take the hit for the day. It marvels the audience how whistledown seems to know a little bit of everything about everyone.

It is not to say that it was perfect in all ramifications. No, there were dull moments and scene that I deemed unnecessary, but when it is Shondaland film, you can't help but want to know what she has brought to the table.

Please watch the film. It is interesting and engaging.

Wow. It is a movie that I will love to see. I appreciate drama with theme on love. When it concides with regency era. I will really love it. Thanks for the review.

Please do well to see the film, you won't be disappointed.

I am glad that you liked that series. I find it offensive on many levels though. Thanks to Netflix, I can watch tv shows from around the world. Seeing a show set in Korea, celebrating Christmas gift giving, makes me wonder what cultural practice has been lost as a result.

Where are the stories and oral histories of your family that is being lost because they are not being promoted because of Netflix.

It is dishonest to the author.

There is a trend now where people will take an established character and will manipulate the character based on personal politics. I never read the original novels but I know that the were not based in an "alternate timeline." Every once in a while, people will write stories about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson being homosexual. I have read all of the Sherlock Holmes stories and homosexuality was never a consideration.

It is historically dishonest. What if Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe was portrayed as being Chinese? Just because it can be done, doesn't mean it should be done. A series devoted to the Russian writer Alexander Pushkin would be historically accurate. Pushkin's maternal great-grandfather had been born in Central Africa. Pushkin was a member of Russian nobility.
Alternatively, there was French writer Alexander Dumas whose paternal grandmother was of Afro-Caribbean origin. Dumas' family were members of the French Nobility.
Why did the showrunner of Bridgerton decided to create a fictional history when a factual history existed. Laziness?
