Regional Secretary Appoints the King and Queen of Baca Bireuen Regency.
The Regional Secretary (Sekda), Ir Ibrahim Ahmad, MSi inaugurated the Reading Ambassadors (King and Queen) of Bireuen Regency, as well as handing over prizes and sash installations to the champions which took place, Saturday (22/6/2024) afternoon, in the Library and Archives Service Hall (Dispusip) local.

Head of the Bireuen Regency Library and Archives Service, Drs Muhammad Nasir, MPd in the report said. The aim of selecting the reading king and queen is to increase interest in reading and literacy in Bireuen Regency, as a motivator and initiator in the context of increasing the literacy index and love of reading in Bireuen Regency.
The activity for selecting the king and queen of reading was held in several stages, namely the written test on June 13 2024, the first session was attended by 50 participants and 30 participants were selected. The second session had 30 participants and 10 participants were selected.
Next, the interview and achievement test was held on Saturday (22/6/2024) which was attended by 10 participants with the theme "Spreading the Energy of Literacy in the Era of the Digital Revolution Towards a Glorious Bireuen Society" as a result of the selection to elect the reading king and queen of Bireuen Regency in 2024.
Meanwhile, Bireuen Regional Secretary, Ir Ibrahim Ahmad, MSi, in his instructions, said, among other things, that reading is an effort to improve various human intellectual abilities, including the power of imagination.
High imagination power increases a person's creativity, this is because readers interact with the words in writing, turning them into images in their minds. It is very important for the younger generation to have a strong imagination so that they can become an asset in their work when they grow up.
Libraries must be present as providers of these needs, with the availability of facilities and infrastructure. Then, encourage people to want to use information sources in the library. "Libraries are not piles of books. But with books, millions of pieces of information are available to broaden people's horizons," he said.
The Regional Secretary also hopes that with the inauguration of the reading king and queen of Bireuen Regency in 2024 today, they will become icons and spearheads in the reading culture campaign, said Regional Secretary Ibrahim Ahmad.
