Feeding the turtle.
I loved this photo I took while my oldest daughter was feeding the turtle. It was captured right at the moment the turtle opened its mouth. I think if I had planned it that way, it wouldn't have come out, and without planning it, it did.

She has very specific tastes. She's fascinated by wild lilies, oregano, and in general, any flower she comes across. As soon as she smelled the leaf of my lily plant that my daughter offered her, she ran to eat it, and that's when I took the photo. When she finishes a leaf, she looks everywhere to see if there are more, but I don't give her many because then my plant is left with few leaves. What I do tend to do is bring cayenne flowers in the mornings, and they are breakfast for the two tortoises, perhaps that's why they are so calm because cayennes have sedative and tranquilizing properties. I still think that tortoises are the best pets to have in an apartment.
