Bireuen Government Commemorates Nuzulul Quran at Sultan Jeumpa Grand Mosque.
The Bireuen Regency Government (Pemkab), Aceh Province, through the Islamic Sharia Office, held a commemoration of Nuzulul Quran on Friday evening (March 6, 2026) on the 17th of Ramadan 1447 AH at the Sultan Jeumpa Grand Mosque in Bireuen.
The event included congregational Isha, Tarawih, and Witr prayers, as well as a religious sermon attended by hundreds of congregants.
This year's Nuzulul Quran commemoration carries the theme "Together, Becoming the Next Generation Who Loves the Quran."
This theme is expected to foster a love among the community, especially the younger generation, for the Quran as a guide to life.
The event was attended by the Deputy Regent of Bireuen, H. Razuardi, MT, Acting Head of the Islamic Sharia Office, Azmi S.Ag, members of the Bireuen Regency Forkopimda (Regional Leadership Communication Forum), religious and community leaders, and hundreds of worshippers.
Deputy Regent of Bireuen, H. Razuardi, MT, encouraged the community to make the Quran their primary guide in their daily lives, as well as a foundation for strengthening Islamic brotherhood within the community.
According to him, the various trials and tribulations that occur in life are Allah SWT's way of reminding people to draw closer to Him, one way of doing this is by increasing their reading and practice of the Quran.
"This Nuzulul Quran momentum should be a reminder for all of us to draw closer to the Quran, make it our guide for life, and strengthen Islamic brotherhood within the community," said the Deputy Regent.
He also hopes that through this spirit of loving the Quran, the people of Bireuen can build a religious and blessed region.
Ustaz Irwansyah, head of the LPI Tahfidz Gandapura, explained in his sermon that the Quran was first revealed during the month of Ramadan through the Baitul Izzah (the House of Allah) in the heavens before being gradually revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the Archangel Gabriel.
He also reminded that the Quran is a guide for humanity and holds great virtue for those who read it regularly.
Heaven longs for those who regularly read the Quran. "As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, 'The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it," he said.
The sermon also emphasized that the month of Ramadan is not only the month of revelation of the Quran, but also a special time to attain Laylat al-Qadr, a night better than a thousand months.
On this night, angels descend bringing mercy and blessings until dawn.
Therefore, Muslims are encouraged to increase their worship during the last ten nights of Ramadan, such as prayer, reading the Quran, remembering God, and supplication, in order to attain the blessings of Laylat al-Qadr.
This Nuzulul Quran commemoration is expected to be a momentum for the people of Bireuen Regency to further strengthen their faith and piety in Allah SWT and to make the Quran a guide in their social lives.
