My Grandmother use to always have a few African Violets by the dining room window. Years ago I would buy one once in a while, but they never lasted really long for me for some reason. I still have a great affection for them when I see them though, because they remind me of her.
I'm actually surprised that I've been able to keep these going and they are flowering. There was an infestation of some small black bugs or something but that has cleared up now.
