With wood on wood. I wonder how much it would cost to get a floor like that nowadays compared to what it was fifty years ago. Did they consider wood abundant back then? In lots of terms it was the material. Not yet replaced.

I wonder if barbarians in despair would burn their floor tiles...perhaps. Then again, define me despair, Batman...
