My Actifit Report Card: March 22 2026
It was back to a normal day after a long 10-hour road trip helping with a rescue dog transport across Arizona. Thus, no chance for any real exercise.
The weather today was a very pleasant break from the 100 degree temperatures over the previous fee days. Nice cloudy skies and the temperature around 85, while still a bit too warm for me, made my run much easier.

Since the conditions were much milder I decided to hit the dry and dusty trails a couple of miles up the forest service road that run through the scrubby hills.
The trail was very dusty with the recent lack of precipitation but since there was no breeze I wasn't bothered too much. No one else was out and the only company were beetles and a solitary butterfly perched on the rocks.

The trail looped around one of the larger hills and the climbs were mostly gradual with just a couple of steeper "S" curve sections but I handled those easily.
My pace was pretty good considering I'm always cautious on these rocky trails, having taken more than one nasty fall in the past.

I finished up with about 4 and a quarter miles for which I am very happy, especially after all the driving yesterday.
Lulu was also happy to be at home and back to our daily hikes as we finished with a couple of miles down in Old Cottonwood.
Lots of people out and about in the downtown section and several more hiking along the river. Lulu was way out in the lead pausing every now and then to check a smell or pee a bit.
Of course, no hike with Lulu would be complete without her obligatory dip in the cooling river
