Social media and Me

in Steem Venezuela10 months ago

Greetings to every amazing member of the Steem Venezuela community. This is my entry on a contest by @inspiration. Sit back and read delightfully.

Do you think Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Tiktok, WhatsApp, etc can be taken as serious news resources? If so, how do you avoid being fooled?

Yes, I think they can be considered serious news sources if one knows how to decipher between the few fake news and the vast true ones.

Presently on the African socialmedia, the trending news is that of the union of Nigerian female influencer Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer, Juma Jux. The headlines do not lie because in this case, it did happen. Videos containing valid evidence of the incidence surfaced on the media alongside the gist.

On the other hand, the way to know a fake news information is the presentation of insufficient or no evidence at all. When I saw the news headline that Pope Francis is late, I wouldn't have believed if not for the pictures and the fact that there were many other headlines from different writers of the similar topic. It was also on Google. It made me know it was real as several reporters at different locations couldn't possibly connive to post one lie.

Do you use socialmedia to study or learn something?

Definitely! In the screenshots below, you can see the topics I surfed the media to check. I'm writing JAMB next year and I needed tips on how to pass so I simply went to YouTube and tapped the search button. The other time, I wanted an ankara outfut idea, so I went to Pinterest and searched it. It helped.

What's more important to you when using socialmedia: knowledge or entertainment? Why?

Source:Source:

Knowledge is of more importance to me when using socialmedia. This is because we live in a world that revolves everyday. Everyday, wonderful discoveries are being made. There's so much to learn on the media so if I have the opportunity, I struggle not to miss out.

Notwithstanding, once in every long while, I could go to my Tiktok page to watch funny videos and cool off. I just do this less often than what I do in the earlier paragraph.

Are you worried about the time you spend on socialmedia?

Source:

No, I'm not. This must be owed to the fact that I kmow how to manage my time. Before I log in to social media, I must have been done with my house chores and my academic obligations (like reading and doing assignments). Plus, most times, I go there to learn. So, nope, I'm not worried because I know I do useful things there.

Draw your own conclusion.

My conclusion of the contest topic 'socialmedia' is socialmedia is helpful in our everyday lives because;.

  1. Through it we learn of happenings we do not see
  2. Through it we get ideas for various things
  3. People even make money from socialmedia, etc
