A Story of Independence Day (Part 1).

It was December 16, 1971, when East Pakistan was transformed into an independent nation called Bangladesh by the surrender of Pakistani forces, a cloud of joy filled the sky of Bengal. All the people of the country floated in the tide of joy in the cities as well as in the villages. Dabir Mia rushes to tell his wife the great joy of this great victory of freedom.

Ratan's mother entered the courtyard of the house, and Ratan's mother kept shouting. Yakon Ratan's mother from Kalpar stopped washing the dishes, wiped her hands on a cloth, then came inside the house with a torn stitched cloth on her head and said, "What happened, Ratan's father? Why are you shouting and destroying the house like that? Tell me what happened to you!"

Ratan's father gets very confused after hearing so many questions from his wife. Then he doesn't know which question to answer. So he ignored all the questions and started telling the reason for his rush, do you know what happened in Ratan's mother city? Ratan's mother then says, I am in a bad state if I keep track of your housework and children all day. How do I know the grave of the city?

Now Dabir Mia began to say very cheerfully, today the Hadnadar forces have surrendered and freed us. As the common peasant laborers of our country started resisting and attacking them, they could no longer survive in this country, they are now running away.

Ratan's mother put her hands on both jaws and said, "Are you telling the truth, Ratan's father? I can't believe it." Soon Ratan's mother got upset. She started saying that they have killed the people of our country like dogs for the last nine months. The youth of the area captured the boys and shot them dead, captured the girls and ended their lives.

Dabir Mia said, yes, Ratan's mother, they will not be able to kill any of us anymore, we will not have to run away anymore, we will not have to stay awake at night without sleeping in fear of death. Now the country is independent, we can live our lives as before. The invaders will again return to their country.

Let the people go back, but what will happen to those who are people of our country, our society and took the side of the Pashan invasion forces and killed all the youths of the area? Will they also go abroad? Will there be no justice for their sins?

Ratan's father then said, "Listen, Ratan's mother, the people of our country who have helped the invaders, killed thousands of our young men, captured the girls and brought them to the invaders' camp, they will be judged one day. They are no longer foreign citizens that they will go abroad. If the situation in the country is right, they will be judged harshly in time.
