Life is a journey

The journey is a purposeful movement from one place to the other. It always emanates via an intention to achieve a purpose, so is life. In life, we undertake processes from birth. Though from childhood, one may know what it is all about, as one grows from childhood to adulthood, it becomes a journey which the commencement is from birth and the end of it is death.

A certain question may come up from the mind. How do I maximize my life opportunities in life?

This can be achieved adequate planning and pursuit of goals on target to be achieved, but it involves a progressive process that needs to be followed. There is a saying that the journey of a thousand miles starts with a step. Note that for one to achieve a successful journey in life, the following needs to be in place:

Background: Children are born into a family as being innocent. This is because when a child is born, he or she knows nothing. The duty lies on the parents to instil proper training on the child by inculcating adequate discipline on the child from the beginning as a baby, teaching him or her ways to go, things to do and things not to do. Like there is a scriptural quote which says, Train up your child the way he should go, that when he grows, he will not depart from it. This is a major step needed to be taken by parents on child training to help their children tread on a smooth journey in life.

Education: Basically, education is the act of enlightening people in other to know the right thing to do, especially at the right time appropriately. This also is related to Literacy, which involves learning the ability to read and write. This is majorly acquired from schools. It is a mandated responsibility of any parent to give a sound academic background to a child in other to empower the child for a successful life. This is because life is so vast and one needs some basic tools to be able to maximize it.

Apart from a literal way of getting educated, one can also learn via the impartation of adequate discipline on how to go about doing things. Whichever way it comes, education is a basic thing anyone needs to accomplish a life journey, and that makes a basic requirement for all.

Association: The association one keeps is a very important determinant on how far he or she can go in the journey of life. This is also managed majorly by children sticking to the discipline they had acquired from homes strictly, even when they are outside their immediate environment. There is a saying that shows me your friend, and I will tell you who you are. Another says the companion of the wise shall be wise and the companion of the fool shall be destroyed. While another says iron sharpens iron.

The person you move with tells much of who you are and who you are likely to become in the nearest future. This is because influence and emulation is a common occurrence in relationships. If you live in the company of a thief as a person, the likelihood of becoming one is not far from it and even if the person claims to be innocent, people who know your company with the thief will never build their confidence in you as a person. This is not far from attitude, the way one behaves determines what he or she does and that makes up his or her kind of person. This makes it very important and needful for one to always be sensitive on how to go about the journey of life.

Be versatile: A versatile person is an adaptable one. In life, there is one constant thing and persistence, which is change. As life goes on, events and situations come our way, the ability to always make a change especially from bad to good and even to better is a commendable step. One should not allow things to change him, or she rather should always strive to change things for good. When unpleasant situations arise, always strive to make the best out of it. This helps us to be impactful and useful wherever we are found, and it goes a long way to affect others and our world generally.

Therefore, as the journey of life takes a line of processes, let us learn to plan well by creating plans which are meant to be followed gradually via useful tools available to go through life journey, concisely work with it via discipline and focus, remaining steady on track, appraising oneself time to time, will greatly aid one in the journey of life for a glorious ending.
