The Diary Game: A Sweet Start To February (3/2/2026)

🌸 Hello February: A Day Filled With Love, Sweet Surprises & Good Food
Happy new month, dear Steemians!!
Welcome to a month of love, ease, and beautiful possibilities.
February happens to be one of my favorite months, and I am already excited about the amazing days ahead.
Yesterday was such a lovely day on my end, and I’d love to take you along as it unfolded.
I woke up with so much joy in my heart that I found myself singing while doing my morning chores. I prepared breakfast and lunch, got my son ready, and we headed to school quite early probably because I woke up earlier than usual. After dropping him off, I returned home and relaxed on a chair, enjoying the calm.
Since lectures had been canceled the previous day, I had no plans of going to school. My plan was simple: visit the market and finally see a friend I hadn’t seen in weeks. But just as I was scrolling through my phone, a message popped up from school we were asked to submit our food models for practical. Honestly, I wasn’t happy because this wasn’t part of my plan at all but duty called.
After a quick bath, I stepped out. My food model was a round doughnut, so I stopped by Tinaries Bakery to get one. Of course, being a cake lover, I couldn’t resist grabbing a slice of chocolate cake as well 🍰.

I got to school, submitted the doughnut, and waited with my coursemates for about two hours, hoping the practical would begin but nothing happened. Eventually, I called my friend and told her I was on my way. Since her house is close to the market we picked up a few food items before heading home.

At her place, she started cooking something I had never tried before, and my curiosity was instantly activated. She made jollof rice with clams—yes, clams!

I assisted her, eager to learn the recipe. When the food was ready, we sat down to a truly sumptuous meal. It tasted so good, and I enjoyed every bite.

After eating, we gisted for a while, catching up on everything we had missed. By the time I got home, it was already dark. I had my bath, joined my family in the living room, helped my son with his assignments, tucked him into bed, and finally retired for the night.
All in all, it was a good day especially because I got to see my friend after weeks apart. I am truly anticipating the days ahead, trusting that this month will only get better .
