The Diary Game [18/12/2024] // Hectic Day

Compliments of the season guys and welcome to my blog as it is yet another day to share with you all my lifestyle content. We are suffering immensely during this harmattan season with dust particles everywhere in town. Moving around town without face mask is like you literally drinking dust.

Today was supposed to be a full work day for me. Unfortunately, since all Saturdays are lockdowns, imposed on the population by separatists fighters, I had to take permission from my boss and went to town to buy gifts for my kids. We have been pressured by the school to buy the gifts and handed them in school while they present them to the kids on the school official closing day for the first term of the academic year 2024/2025.

Just dropped off the cab and walking to a shop to buy gifts for my kids.

Guys, the sun was supper hot and I did not apply sunscreen and the harsh sun rays dealt with me. I checked on a mirror and saw how dark my face was. I did not have any particular gift in mind and had to just walk along shops at the commercial street.

The commercial street.

This is festive season and on days as such and at this hour, the streets were supposed to be jammed up with heavy traffic as everyone moves around shopping. I was surprised that the streets were empty and few persons could be spotted. While walking along the commercial street, I came across one fruits vendor. I stopped by and bought some oranges and pineapples.

The sun was unbearable for me walking from one shop to the other and I had to just stick to one shop where I bought the gifts , parcelled them and put in a gift bag.

I took the gifts and took a cab to drop me off at my kids school. I arrived there on time and witnessed kids preparing with full momentum, the school choir was doing some rehearsals and the school ballet was also doing some rehearsals.

I walked to my kids classes where I presented the different gifts to their various class teachers. Then I went to the bursar’s office to buy school official wears for my son as by May 2025, he will be graduating from nursery to primary school.

By the time I was leaving the school, the ceremony ground was being arranged by both teachers and some pupils.

I left the school and had to rush back to work but could not work for long as I was feeling exhausted for the day. I had to just zoom out of work and return back home. While along the way, I stopped at a grocery store to buy milk, biscuit, and eggs. I paid for the things and left back home.

While at home, I had to cook our dinner, then I took a warm bath and call it a day. I was so exhausted that I could not even eat. Until my next diary session, it is good night from my end.

Greeting mam, it’s a pleasure to read a day of your life. It’s really so tough to survive in the dust and the scorching sun in the Harmattan season, we also felt the same in our country in the month of "Chairto". In this weather walking under the heating sun, it is really very harsh and exhausting. Though this difficult atmosphere you still managed to shop for gifts for your kids and how beautifully those are wrapped. The pineapple and the oranges are so beautifully decorated on the road. The scenario of kid's choir and ballet rehearsals brings back some memories of my childhood. I love how you surprised your kids by giving them gifts and also maintained the mother’s duty by picking up your son's wear for graduation day. In spite of being tired, you still did the grocery shopping, cooked dinner, and enjoyed a warm bath. You spent a day with lots of household chores along with the duties out of home. My warm wishes are always for you.

Thank you @sergeyk for the support.

Honorable @chant mam,,
I feel really sad to know about the current season in your country. The dusty environment is really quite presentable as well as unhealthy, which leads us to many deadly diseases. In our country we have to live such a dusty life in rural areas during dry season, so I can feel your pain even a little bit. For the happiness of children we have to sacrifice a lot especially mothers of children. Like you gift your children for your children despite having a full day job. Took a leave from the boss to buy. It is really a responsibility to buy some gifts for the children on the occasion of New Year, because it is difficult for them when they see the New Year gifts in the hands of their friends. Matters become if they don't get new gifts. You worked tirelessly throughout the day at the office, at the kid's school and back home cooking. Even you couldn't even eat dinner because you were so tired which was really hard. Every mother is constantly making such sacrifices for their children. I pray for mothers all over the world to live long.
