The Diary Game [27/05/2026] From Steemit Curation to Family Responsibilities.

Hi guys, accept warm Steem greetings from the motherland of Cameroon, and welcome to my blog, where I'm gonna share my lifestyle content with you.

Today was a truly special and memorable day here in Cameroon, as the nation observed Eid al-Mubarak as a public holiday, allowing our Muslim brothers and sisters to celebrate this important occasion in peace and joy. It is always heartwarming to witness the spirit of inclusiveness and unity that exists in our society, where people from different religious backgrounds respect and celebrate one another. I want to wish once again all Muslim faithful a joyful and blessed Eid Mubarak.

Since it was a public holiday, there was no official work for the day, but my schedule still turned out to be quite packed. I woke up early and immediately put myself together for the day’s activities. Before settling down with my laptop, I instructed my kid sister to prepare pancakes for breakfast. While she worked in the kitchen, I focused on carrying out my curation activities on Steemit. The morning was calm and productive, and the aroma of freshly prepared pancakes made the atmosphere even more pleasant.

After breakfast, I quickly rushed to the market to buy fresh huckleberries and tomatoes that we would use to prepare fufu corn and huckleberry soup for lunch. The market was lively despite the holiday, with many traders displaying fresh produce and people moving around making last-minute purchases for their Eid celebrations. I was happy to get very fresh vegetables at reasonable prices before heading back home.

Immediately I returned home, and there was no time to waste. I engaged myself in preparing the fufu corn while my sister concentrated on cooking the huckleberry soup. Cooking together always creates a warm atmosphere in the house, and we worked hand in hand to ensure lunch was ready on time. The meal turned out delicious, and the combination of hot fufu corn with well-prepared huckleberry soup was simply satisfying.

In the middle of all these activities, I had to attend an online meeting concerning preparations for my parents’ upcoming 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Reaching such a milestone in marriage is truly a blessing and worth celebrating in a grand way. Interestingly, the date also happened to be my son’s birthday, and his cousin was born on the same date. This made the day even more special for the family as we discussed plans for multiple celebrations at once.

As part of the preparations, I had a conversation with a friend of mine who is a baker. She sent me pictures and descriptions of different cake designs and flavours available for the events. There were so many beautiful options to choose from, but after carefully going through them, I selected three cakes that would perfectly fit the celebrations. We later discussed and agreed on the prices, which was a huge relief because event planning can sometimes become stressful.

Later in the day, another issue demanded urgent attention around the house. For some time now, our neighbour’s septic tank has been overflowing, and the terrible odour has made life very uncomfortable for everyone around. We have repeatedly complained to the caretaker, but unfortunately, nothing concrete has been done about it. Since today was a public holiday and many people were available, we decided to take temporary action ourselves. We bought concrete, two bags of cement, plastic bags, and Panteco in an effort to seal the area where the smell was oozing from the ground. The work took some time and required supervision, but we are hopeful that this solution will finally stop the unbearable stench.

By evening, I was already exhausted from the busy day. I took a refreshing cold bath, completed my remaining curation tasks on Steemit, ate my meal peacefully, and finally relaxed a bit. It was indeed a long but fulfilling day filled with family activities, responsibilities, celebrations, and problem-solving.

As I bring this diary to an end, I remain grateful for life, family, and the opportunity to witness another beautiful Eid celebration in our diverse and inclusive society. Until my next diary, I wish all Muslim faithful a happy and blessed Eid al-Mubarak.
