Hello steemians and my fellow Cameroonians. Greetings to us all.
I am here today to bring a vital information to all steemians and especially newbies in the Steem Cameroon community. This is very important for us.
Remember the teachings in Achievement 2 Task in the new comers community ( if you are yet to do it please go and read through and do) about Basic Security on Steemit. Well, as we say Blockchain technology is very safe, yet talented scammers work everyday to beat the system. This is not very possible and so they are using different strategies now.
If you have gone through Basic Securities on Steemit, you must have heard that it isn't advisable to save your password online on any platform. If you haven't saved your security keys online, then you are safe to a degree as the only way to your account is through your keys.
But there is still a threat for you. Scammers and hackers have now developed a new means to hack and steal your account through methods like this. Image below.
Through this kind of links, they promise profitable benefits for you. Very impressive reward just so you click on the link given and immediately you do, your account is gone. Please do not click on this link and others like this.
I was drawn to this when I saw the comments of @steemcurator01 in a crypto academy class. I will do a full post on How to avoid and detect scam alerts like this but for now I will give a few advice on how not to get scammed any where in life.
Don't be greedy. Greed is the root cause of most scams. The desire to want to gain without working. Most Ponzi schemes or scams base on this notion to exploit users.
Due diligence. Do a good due diligence on google and other sites before you click on the link.
(As I earlier mentioned, I will be doing a full post on this soonest.)
This links are be on too rampant now on Steemit mainly due to the fact that Steemit is a booming platform.
