The Diary Game ; Marriage attendance (24/11/2024)
MORNING ACTIVITIES
Firstly, waking up by God's grace I did the regular morning devotion , brushed and rush to meet up with my schedule for the day.
I had it in mind that today will be a very busy day for me as I'll be assisting my friend to cook in his late mom's burial and also attend a traditional marriage of a former neighbor. After brushing I had my breakfast and rushed to the location where my friend directed me to go an assist him in cooking.
Firstly when I got to the location I met different ladies ,four in number so I greeted them exchange pleasantries ,sat down for 5 minutes and then when straight for the main purpose.
The first thing I did was to assist in cutting our local leaf called afang mainly used in preparing afang soup . Let me tell you a bit of what you should know about afang soup.
Afang soup is a native soup of the ibibio's usually cooked in occasions like burial, traditional marriage ,birthday parties and lot more. It usually comes as a leave and the method of preparing it is by slicing it into tiny sizes then pound it and cook it with watermelon and any protein of your choice.🍲🍲
So back to the main diary game, after slicing the afang leaves which actually took a whole lot of time , I went straight to wash the watermelon leaves for two times and sliced it while doing this I was checking the time because I had to attend a traditional marriage too, at this point I checked the time and it was few minutes past 9. So I informed the ladies I assisted that I will be leaving shortly, just in order to reduce the work I further assisted in washing the plate and sweeping the floor .Least before I forget after slicing the afang leaves I was given a plate of jollof rice with chicken.
After I was done with washing t
plates and sweeping the floor I had to leave in order to meet up with the bride to attend the traditional marriage. As I was about leaving the ladies called me back and gave me a plate of fresh delicious afang soup with two raps of santana usually called fufu in our dialect. And I was so happy cause it'll save the cost of buying food for today.
Getting back home the first thing I did was to take my bath, wrapped my gift for the bride , I
did a light makeup on my face , fixed my nails and finally dressed up for the traditional marriage. The color of the they was doing so I put on a Green dress 🥻
When I was done I left for the location so I'll join a bus but before I left I got lots of compliment from people, I was so happy and I smile all through.
AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES
Getting to the location I saw lots of asoebi ladies , i saw different ladies with different complexions, different beautiful faces .
I stayed for about 30 minutes before the bride finished everything and we were all set to leave for the location of the traditional marriage which is a mkpat enin in akwa ibom State Nigeria.
It took about 1 hour 30 minutes to get to the bride's location but we still finally got there and the were so welcoming.
From the decoration, to the MC to the usher, to the protocols, to the event planner everything was perfect ,everything was fine .
Immediately the Bride arrived the MC started the event and everything went well to the glory of God, the Bride went back with her husband , they made couples. I had a good time I had enough to eat , i met new people and at the end of the day everything was perfect, I go back home and slept .
WHAT A DAY IT WAS !!!!
I won't forget to share the moment the MC asked the groom what name he will call his bride and he said INEM meaning my happiness, the MC said that he's a good person unlike him that when his wife calls him sugar he calls her crude oil 😂😂😂 at this moment everybody bursted into laughter
It was really fun
And also I was able to present my gift to the bride and she was so elated.
