Let me share in your day, first to say that you're a great woman your children must be proud. Some mothers do not like going for meetings like this not knowing that it gives an opportunity to interface with those who have your children hours with them every week. From PTA you will know the direction the school is going and the caliber of teachers they have.
The future of a child if depending on who is teaching them or who there are listening to at that tender age.

On the aspect of favoritism, it's positive to be accused, and very possible that's it a misinterpretation of relationship between the teacher and the students or pupils. Every teacher will love and appreciate a smart kid, but one should be care of how they hype other children. Treat them equally.
