To return to the place where we have been happy
is to relive the moments and smile again.

@marybellrg

Dear diary:

How long has it been since we last spoke? Well, that you listened to my experiences through my daily stories, I meant. It was many days without stopping by. Many things have happened since then. The lack of internet (a serious and recurrent problem in my country, Venezuela), made me absent, always remembering to be here with you in this small, but great space that is your lines, and always longing to come back to tell you my daily things.

Returning at this moment I can only tell you that I feel happy and grateful to live, for being here telling you my experiences again. This evil virus called Covid has not been easy to cope with. In my family, there were two cases (my mother and my brother Fernando) and their health condition was very bad. Thank God they were able to overcome it and I am very grateful for that every day of my life.

To have health in these times is a reason for eternal gratitude. In this year I have learned many things, dear Diary. One of them is to stop being afraid of tomorrow. The future does not exist, only the present and I reaffirm that more than ever. I am about to start my retirement stage in my current job of all my life. It was 30 years in that place (a lifetime, right?) and it was a decision I made even though I could continue in my current job because I felt the need to see a little further and know that I can perform other activities that fulfill me more. I love and loved my profession very much in my years of work and I think I gave my all to always be a quality professional, but it was time for something different and it is to continue the path in a new stage, a new facet.

Writing has always been a source of joy in my life. Since I discovered this path almost 4 years ago in the blockchain, there have been many moments of happiness and growth. It's time to dedicate more time to it and continue to grow. Retiring will allow me this change for the better, as well as having more time for myself and owning my time, and enjoying my freedom to the fullest. I know great things are coming, I can feel it and I know it is going to happen.

I found upon my return, this fabulous community called Steem-Cameroon, a niche of beautiful and kind people that I have begun to interact with. I have always believed that language is not a barrier to friendship and appreciation. It fascinates me to know other cultures different from my own and to know about their day-to-day life. Cameroonians are nice and kind people, very humble and sincere as far as I have been able to see. Here I have been treated with great kindness. That is why I dared to return today from this little house and give you news of me again and the reason for my absence.

Soon I will begin to show you and update you about my daily life. I am still at home, preparing for retirement which will be effective September 1st. I am very excited about the new change in my life. Happy and always opening my arms to the future that has already happened today.

This Sunday particularly flew by, very fast, between collecting water for our tank (it had been 12 days since the water had reached the pipes), the day went by. We ate light meals, there was not much time to cook. The delicious Venezuelan arepa is never missing from our table every day, you know that. The day was a bit cloudy (all these days have been like that) but the drizzle was light today thank God. It's almost time for me to say goodbye, you'll see me here very soon, telling you new stories. It's great to be back.
