The Weight Of Trust: Keeping Secrets Sacred
Hello my people, I was out here trying to get things done this afternoon and I overheard something that really shocked me to the marrow, the words never shocked me like the person who said it, let me just share it guys.
While I stepped outside today after I was done working, I was leaning to the pillar outside when I heard someone's friend talking ill against his own best friend, he said alot of things and revealed most of the friend's vulnerability. It was shocking and I just could help than to leave the scene.
Yes, it is good to have friends we share our secrets with but to some extent you never can vouch if your friend has really kept your secret to themselves, people can easily hurt you because your supposed best friend has shared your vulnerability outside and it will spread round just like that. Don't be too confident with someone that you share the most about yourself, you might indirectly be setting yourself up for destruction in the nearest future.
My dad once told me that "a secret is no longer a secret when it leaves your mouth", I just understood that today, sometimes it's even good to die with certain things or let them just die a natural death instead of going out there to entrust it into another man's heart, it often doesn't end well.
And for you that claims to be someone's friend, if someone trust you so well that they entrust their secret to you, do not betray them to share their vulnerability or try to take undue advantage of them, karma is very real and doesn't pity. Be solid to people that trust you and don't ever try to hurt them.
Do not reveal too much about yourself, people cannot destroy what they are ignorant of, stay solid to yourself before thinking someone else will, just let your secret be with you, no one is to be trusted even yourself. As a friend, learn to keep secret and do not betray people's trust in you.
