The Diary Game 21/09/22 : Working on research

Steem greetings everyone.
It’s Monday, a new week and a new beginning
Wishing you all a week full of joy. It’s a ghost town day here in my own part of the country and everyone is just home.
I woke up this morning at 5:30am prayed and took out my notes to glance through. My classes this semester are just full of revision since HND is fast approaching and we need to get ready for it.
After reading I went out of the room and kept the house clean then my kid sister made breakfast, we ate bread and beans then drank a cup of tea.

Breakfast

After having breakfast I went to my room to work on my research. My research supervisor had given me a few corrections do to on my research which I did. At the end of my diary I’m going to share with y’all the research topic I’m working on. After doing that we went to the kitchen to make lunch my kid sis made sauce while I boiled rice. In about an hour time the food was ready we showered and performed our afternoon prayers.

Lunch.

After lunch we took out notes to read, I enjoy reading with my kid sister cuz it’s feels encouraging, we both are in examination classes so we study together and hope for the best. When we were done reading I took my kid sister’s note book and asked her a few questions which she answered correctly meaning she had understood what she read.

My Research Topic

I’m working on postpartum hemorrhage. What motivated me to work on this topic is that fact that I have seen many women die from postpartum hemorrhage and so I was interested in knowing more about this Postpartum hemorrhage.

• Postpartum is the period from when a woman gives birth till 6weeks.

• Hemorrhage means bleeding

Hence, postpartum hemorrhage is defined as blood lost exceeding 500mls following a vagina delivery and blood lost exceeding 1000mls following a cesarean section.
A cesarean section is what we commonly call delivery through an operation.
Postpartum hemorrhage is an obstetric emergency and it’s a threat to the woman’s life. If prompt action is not taken the woman might go into hypovolemic shock which will eventually lead to death.
Postpartum hemorrhage is devided into two types;

primarily postpartum hemorrhage which is also known as early postpartum hemorrhage and

secondary postpartum hemorrhage which is also known as late postpartum hemorrhage.

Primary postpartum hemorrhage is hemorrhage which occurs within 24 hours after birth while secondary postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is hemorrhage which occurs more than 24 hours after birth till up to 12 weeks.
PHH is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality both in developed and less developed countries. But studies have shown that there is a significant difference in the maternal death between developed and less Developed (developing) countries, aternal death rate is lower in developed countries. This significant difference shows that PPH can be prevented and it can be managed.
Postpartum hemorrhage has several causes but it’s causes are summarized using the acronym 4T’s.

Causes of PPH

• Tone
• Trauma
• Thrombin
• Tissue
