MY KIDS AND I: THE TRILOGY OR VALUES
I am currently a class six teacher at CESBI with over 200 kids whom I meet every 6days of the 7days a week. I teach, impact, and guide over 40 of them daily from morning to afternoon.
In our interactions so far, I have learned and practiced many positive values from them.

1---GETTING ANGRY DOES NOT MEAN YOU CEASE TO LAUGH.

My kids will make noise and I will beat them. When they do not do their assignments, I beat them too. I can remember vividly, what transpired between the kids and I. May of them came late to class and I whipped them. Afterwards, on checking the assignments I gave them, a cross section did not also do it. So, I beat them. They cried and sobbed till I felt very bad for making them cry.
In an hour’s time, we were all laughing. They were willing to do anything I asked them to do with all joys and happiness.
Thus, when they are sad, they easily give up the sadness for joy which is must important.

2---ALWAYS BE WILLING TO HELP

During the few months I have been with these kids, they have never relented a day, or an hour or a minute; even a second to do something for me or their fellows.
If I say: “pick the papers outside”, with the blink of an eye, they wil

l do just that.
If I say “Wipe the board” more than five people will scramble to the board to wipe.
If I say one, they will do two. Thus, they are always available to be of service. And I learned this value and saw that its practice is very fulfilling.

3---BE GENEROUS.

My kids share whatever little or big thing they have with their fellows or mates. On Monday, one of the kids, Kelly, brought a mighty bread, but finally, she ate a part that could hardly fill her palms. She shared it until it was just a pinch left.
Each day I come to class, I meet two bottles of water: one for washing my hand and the other for drinking. This is provided daily by the kids out of their will and zeal for generosity.
If I say “give me a pen” I will find a million of pens in front of me in a minute and those not taken will be angry that they didn’t take theirs. They do not think of how they will benefit, they think of “ I SHOULD BE THE ONE TO HELP”. They derive pleasure in helping, servicing and staying joyous and happy. That is the life I want to live all the days of my life.
