    Introduction

Greetings to you all humble steemians, and welcome to another episode of my diary spent at work on Labor Day. Labor day in most African countries is regarded as one of the international days that are celebrated. We can assume that may 1st was dedicated as a paid public holidays, and it was made official in the year 1886 in Cameroon, relating to public holidays in the Republic of Cameroon. Labor day therefore, is amongst the official state holidays in Cameroon where companies honor and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of laborers and workers. As usual, before the day, companies will print out t-shirts and distribute to all workers, communicate a specific venue where these workers will meet, share ideas, eat, drink and have more fun. In the following few words, I will be sharing with you how my may 1st was spent and how I felt about it.

    Morning session.

I woke up at 6: a.m, after my meditation and bed made up, I played some gospel sound tracks, went straight into the bathroom to brush and take my bath. When I was done bathing, I entered the kitchen to heat the tomatoes sauce I cooked the previous day, which I did. I later boil spaghetti to eat with the sauce, and equally dished out some to take to work. It was 8:10a.m, and I arrived work, after signing in at the entrance manually, I went straight into my Unit hall to sign into the machine. When I was done, I introduced my presence into the system, went out to take few pictures for the day. On the pictures, you will noticed that am rather putting on a “RIP T-shirt” of my late sister and not the company’s T-shirt. However, my company didn’t grant our Unit t-shirts to wear on Labor Day, which is even weirder. After my pictures, I went back to my sit and began working.

      Afternoon session

At 1pm, I took the meal I brought from home, went into the canteen to eat. After my launch, I went back in to the hall and I continued working. The afternoon session really had no major event, as we only had work to do and few chitchats amongst colleagues regarding the day. Most of my colleagues including me weren’t happy being at work on labor and on a Sunday for that matter. At about 5pm, it was closing time and I left straight home. Few of my friends had invited me out for few drinks at 8pm, around my quarter. However, I had my salsa dancing class which was scheduled at 6:30pm.

       Evening session.

When I arrived the house, it was already 5:pm. After changing my dress, I went into the kitchen, washed my hands, heat my tomatoes sauce and dished out some to eat. I finished eating and left the house for salsa dancing class. Upon entering the salsa hall, I noticed that we were just few of us due to Labor Day feast. Nonetheless, those of us that were present started “cha cha and merengue dance”. We danced for 1hr 30 minutes and I left, since I had a small rendezvous with my few friends. When I arrived home, I took my bath, dressed up and rain started. It rained so heavily that eneo had to do what they know how to do best by ceasing light. Now, my outing program was ruined. I changed back into my night wear and slept. That was how I spent Labor Day 2022.
