My Dairy Game: My Sunday Engagement (22/12/2024)
Oh, my Sunday's activities were unprecedented. From morning till evening, I was so happy because every moment was replete with activity. You know Sunday happens to be my best day because, it is a time to meet friends in the church, relax, watch Premier league and have fun.
As usual, I woke up by 6am, started chores with sweeping and mopping floor. Since my children have returned from a holiday visit, I bathed two of them, Delight and Praise God. And then, I took my own bath. I went to the kitchen to prepare light breakfast: fried plantain with eggs, then we used it with tea.
Service at my church starts by 8am. So to catch up with time, we have to leave home early by 7.30am in order to board tricycle in time before many passengers come out. So I quickly brushed their shoes and mine immediately after breakfast.
I had to dress them first before myself. The mother was not coming with me because she was sick. But before my children and I left to the church I went to the nearby chemist shop to get some drugs for her. When I came back, I rushed to put on my clothes. In a few minutes, we were ready for church.
We definitely arrived the church by 7.35am and then service commenced by 8am. It was a prayer and fasting service to mark the end of the year. I participated very well. My prayer centered on my wife whom I left at home, sick. I took time to pray for her quick recovery. It wasn't easy to control the children in the church. You know children. It wasn't easy but I tried my best with the help of the children teacher.
The church officially dismissed by 12noon. But after the church, I sat back and had a meeting with the youth on the upcoming end of the year get-together. As the youth president, I briefed them on the achievement so far and the 2025 proposal .The meeting took about 2hours
My children and I were tired and hungry because we left the church by 2.36pm. I had to stop by the roadside to buy them snacks and water before we reach home. We finally reached home by 3.05pm. I freshened up in the bathroom, ate lunch and relaxed. Of course my wife had managed to prepare us porridge plantain. She had felt better than we left her.
I went to bed and relaxed.
When I got up by 5pm, it was time to go and watch premier league match between Liverpool and Tottenham. I went to a viewing center, paid money and watched the match along with others. The match lasted till 7.30pm. It was a great match and I like football very much.
I came back home by 8.30pm to relax with my children a bit. I had a little time with them before I finally went to sleep. Though it was a hectic day, I did enjoy every bit of it. That was how my Sunday went.
