Science practicals

My humble greetings to all steemians out here. Welcome to my diary post. Again I bring to you some interesting content wealth reading and educating at the same time.

My entry post will be talking about a science practical which was carried out in my school by science students of the final year as part of their assessment toward the preparation of the general certificate of education exams (G.C.E).

These students were tasked to carry out the production of liquid soap 🧼 which is a basic necessity in our homes. They didn't do this alone but with directions from their course instructor, Mr Dairou. A lot of it will be detailed as you read ahead of the post.

Diary proper.

Tuesday's are fun days on my week schedule, as I got so much interesting activities on this day. I woke up in the morning pretty early, of course it's a work day, and on this day I will be in school rather than at the shop.

Following up with my morning routine was pretty easy, which is push ups, crunches, planking and giggles jumps. I never miss this morning workout as it's my motivation to get my day going real smooth.

After sports I quickly got into the bathroom, took a shower and then to the dining table to have some breakfast. My breakfast today was potato fries 🍟 and egg. I love it so much.

Breakfast

When I was done with breakfast. I picked up my stuffs and then off my way to school. My ride is 20 minutes max. So by 7:30 a.m. I was already on campus. I got to the staff room, fill in the attendance register, then move to my class for the morning.

I'm a science teacher and I love to try out new discoveries at times, but currently what I teach is solo mathematics and requires less practice, which I find quite easy to tutor, but then I will love to see students carry out practicals in other subjects like physics, chemistry or biology. I myself as a student passed through the process and watching them do it brings back memories.

While I'm done with my lessons for the day, I decide to hang around and by then chemistry practicals where going on, I decide to pip in and see what they were up to. But then I discovered the were in process of producing some.

So I batch in with my colleague's permission to get a closer look. From there I discovered that there well in process of producing a liquid soap or better still detergent use in our homes for cleaning.

Liquid soap production, separate stations

From the look, you can tell they are doing a great job already. I walked around and ask them some questions which they responded positively, really really amazing to see they are putting theory work into practice.

My colleague and chemistry tutor Mr Dairou was constantly moving from station to station to make sure the students are doing the right thing and also he was in charge of measuring and adding the reagents to the mixtures till homogeneity is obtained.

Mr Dairou on supervision

When the mixtures were ready. They were covered and allowed to settle down. This took like 2 to 3 hours, and the students were back in the lab to feel the containers. The end results were amazing and a portion of this production was sent to the chief examiners in charge for tasting and grading.

Final product of liquid soap

Well I left before they could fill in the bottles as it was getting late for me already. So the image quality isn't going to look same like my camera does. But I'm happy you can still make a deal out of it. I wan to say a big shout out to my students and colleagues for such a wonderful production.

When I got home, I was really exhausted, so I immediately took a shower and move the dinning section to get some dinner. I had prepared rice and tomato sauce the previous day, and that's what I will be having for dinner.

Dinner

It was a great day indeed and I am so happy to have fulfilled my duties well, couple with the fact that my students were able to pull out a successful production is already a lot. I thank God for this day and I continue to pray for better days.

I have a great diary today and I'm looking forward to write more diaries like this. Just stick around always and I ll always bring you good content.

Happy reading

Ahoy there, fellow Steemians! Gather 'round for a tale of science, suds, and... potato fries? Yes, you heard that right! Our intrepid diarist embarked on a journey through the halls of academia, witnessing the wondrous spectacle of liquid soap production while munching on some tasty taters.

Picture this: a morning routine of push-ups and planking, followed by a breakfast fit for a king – or at least a hungry teacher – complete with golden-brown potato fries and eggs. But wait, the adventure doesn't stop there! Our hero hops on the school bus (or maybe it's a bicycle? Who knows!) and arrives at the hallowed halls of learning just in time for some chemistry shenanigans.

As our intrepid teacher strolls into the chemistry lab, they're greeted by the sight of bubbling beakers and swirling solutions – it's like Hogwarts, but with fewer wands and more safety goggles. With Mr. Dairou leading the charge, our budding chemists mix and measure their way to liquid gold – aka, liquid soap. And let me tell you, folks, it's a sight to behold!

But alas, all good things must come to an end, and our weary teacher heads home for a well-deserved dinner of rice and tomato sauce. And thus concludes another day in the life of a teacher-slash-soap enthusiast.

But hey, don't just take my word for it! Why not drop a comment below and share your own tales of science experiments gone awry or unexpected culinary delights? Let's keep the conversation sudsy and the laughs flowing like a never-ending stream of soap bubbles! 🧼😄
