POISONOUS QUEST | Sequel - 4
Hello beautiful people and welcome to my blog. I'm eager to dish out the unfoldings of the adventures of our friends Abong and Nchùâbeh in your most favorite series, POISONOUS QUEST . If you are new here, in order not to be as lost as our two characters from the story😅, please catch up by reading Sequel 1, Sequel 2 and Sequel 3.
It was already a few minutes after 6pm that same day when Abong started hearing distant voices as he gradually recovered from his trip to limbo. The voices were so faint but he manage to hear one of them say, "He has to be amputated urgently". That statement came as a catalyst to reset his mind and visual capacity. He immediately opened his eye while struggling to sit up, and very assertively he immediately said, "No body is cutting my leg"🦵. He remembered the word "amputate" from when their neighbours son fell from a ladder while trying to get into the kitchen ceiling to collect dried palm kernel. He was rushed to the city and returned with half a leg. To the surprise of the two medical personels who were talking by the bed close to Abong, they both rushed towards him to reassure him that they weren't talking about him. One of the doctors immediately checked Abong's vitals and noticed he was doing ok. They immediately went to the reception area and called for the lady who had brought him to the hospital. She had waited all this while at the hospital praying and hoping he wakes up soon. The hospital was the finest👌 in town.

Rafiki was so relieved and concerned at the same time as she rushed into the ward. She inquired to know how he was feeling and apologized for what had happened. She explained that her brakes had failed and she lost control of the car. So the doctor incharge came in and said he thinks Abong is ok and could be discharged, but would need to rest adequately while taking his pain killers. It's at this juncture that Rafiki asked to know where his family was so she could take him there. Abong then explained the whole story from when he and his friend left the village to how they had slept at the garage and then how he found himself at the junction where he was knocked down. He ended by saying with a sad voice, "I don't even know if Nchùâbeh is still alive or not"🥺. This is when it dawned on Rafiki that this was her new responsibility, at least for now.
Rafiki was a young successful and respectable top executive in one of the big banks at Wusâh. She just celebrated her 33rd birthday a week ago and she lived alone with a pair of budgerigars 🦜🦜 and a black Rottweiler 🐕. She gets help from a chef she employs for her meals and a charwoman for the chores at home. Without hesitating, Rafiki suggested he comes stay with her while they figure out his next step.

When they got home Abong was amazed at the beauty of everything he saw. Everything looked rich and he couldn't stop gazing around like a lost dog. He only heard of places that look like this in stories, since they didn't even have electricity back at Nta'a-Cōh, let alone a television set 📺 through which he could have seen it. Rafiki introduced him to her house staff and he was shown to one of the guest rooms. He didn't believe he will be having a big room all to himself, a bed🛏 for him alone, a table, his own bathroom and even where to hang his clothes. "Chaiiii na heaven I dey so ohhh", he said to himself as he sat one cheek of his buttocks at the edge of the couch by the window🪟, not so convinced if he should fully place both cheeks into the seat . At this moment, he wished Nchùâbeh would have been there with him to witness such wonders.

Nchùâbeh had followed Dagobert to where he lived, in a swampy neighborhood at the outskirts of Wusâh. Here, all the houses were suspended on sticks to avoid floods. He lived with 4 other boys and 3 girls. They were all smoking stuff wrapped in papers and drinking hard alcohol. Every where was a mess. They all looked high, speaking loudly, laughing carelessly and throwing slangs at each other. Immediately Dagobert walked in, they all stood up greeting and hailing him in strange languages. Nchùâbeh didn't need a soothsayer to tell him that these guys were not good guys. It now dawned unto him that he was Dagobert's newest recruit into whatever it is he was into. That's the moment he wished he had ran off with Abong to where ever he is now. He would give anything to be else where but at this particular place right now.

Dear Steemians, the story only gets more narrow. I thought I was going to breath better today but right now I'm as confused as you all are and eager to discover how this twist unwinds. What do you think will happen next? Has Abong found a safe haven? Is Nchùâbeh safe with Rigobert and co? Have the gods of Nta'a-Cōh gone on vacation? While waiting to get answers to these questions in Sequel-5, I wish you a splendid day.
