The Diary Game: A Day As A Sound Technician In A Funeral Service ||21-02-2026||

Honestly, I never knew I would have a gig on Saturday, I wasn't planning for it either but it came as an impromptu gig so I obliged. I went to the place, though it was a personal job, I didn't go with my crew. My work was to select the sound system and before I could go there, the whole place was decorated. This is the most beautiful decoration I have seen so far for the year.

There wasn't going to be instruments because it was the burial of an Olumba Olumba Obu member. I came here and they gave me their sound system, I fixed it for them and connected every plugins. When I finished, I took my seat and watched them sing their acapella.

Somehow, I used to wonder how these people do manage to sing without instruments but would sing with their mouths and it will be like they have instruments in their mouths.

I watched them and did some adjustments on the sound where necessary, everything was so strange to me because this is the first time I am in such an event. I called one of my crew member who has selected sound for them before for tips and the guy was laughing at me, he told me to just do what I can do that they won't be mad so long as the sound is cool.

After the woman was buried, I went to go and ease off myself, I saw the flex of the woman, some people are naturally beautiful, imagine she is 70 but this beautiful, I really admire her beautiful face and I wish her nothing but a restful rest.

I got my pay and returned back to the house where I had my nap. The burial ceremony was a very fast one that I had time to come and rest. I called my staffs to know how far and they told me they still have cash. That was a good one, so I took a cell deserving nap till evening.

After I stood up from where I was lying down, I was yawning up and down and I know it's hunger that was doing me so I left the house and went to a restaurant to buy food and eat. I bought two wraps of fufu with egusi soup and ate.

After I finished eating, I stayed till it was time to watch Tottenham Vs Arsenal match. I watched the match till the end and I was proud of Arsenal. When the match ended, I went back home and then I bathed and went to bed.
