RE: YOU'RE YOUR MOST IMPORTANT CURATOR!
Cool video bro, loved the edition!
Yeah I agree that leaders are pretty OP at the moment but its nice to hear that more people will become leaders and that those rewards will be shared between more accounts. At the moment feels like the pool is being distributed between a handful of users.
About the content creators topic.... I must say that it feels to me like at the moment the system needs some tweaking when it comes to rewarding the creators. Lets say that a new user joins DTube and has little to no DTC. Creates an amazing video in which she/he spent hours filming and editing. Then this user uploads and gets 3 DTC while curators get 50, others 40. It has to be heartbreaking to see others profiting from your effort. I know that those curators hold DTC and therefore VP due to lot of effort put in the platform in the last few years, or due to investing big. But a click takes you 1 second while the video that this new user created could take hours to make. Will these new users stay in DTube if they get crumbs while the OP curators keep all the cake for themselves?? mmmm doubt it. I think user retention is key here because the curators need content to curate... its like a vicious circle. Its like curators and creators need each other for a healthy and organic growth. But with the actual system I find it hard to believe that creators (with no stake) will be joining massively.
At the same time I FULLY trust the team and I assume some changes will be made to make the system fair for all. This is the very early days so it only makes sense that some things need some adjustments.
Disclaimer: This is not a complaint, this is just me being fully honest about this hot topic. Thanks for sharing your view on the matter bro!
Again... loved the vid!
Thanks for the perspective and insights. I totally agree with you and the weighting how much the first voter earn is something we rly need to change. As you've said: " I know that those curators hold DTC and therefore VP due to lot of effort put in the platform in the last few years, or due to investing big. But a click takes you 1 second while the...." to create a video takes you around 4-6 hours max. To run servers and be active in the community weeks. It is just not in a relation.
As soon as we have figured out the weighting problem - creators will have more motivation to upload and stay on dtube 100% :) We will get to this goal!
Thx for your comment and inout - I will take that to the leaders and devs :)
