I think having a bit of physical gold in these uncertain times is indeed a good idea. Many types of investments involve having binomial numbers stored in a 'cloud' somewhere. Having something like gold that can be heald in your hand and stored where you live for immediate access is comforting and smart. They say: "don't put all your eggs in one basket", and that's also true with investing. I would add... don't put your wealth in digital baskets, diversify into something real.
