TRUST IN HIM
“FOR TO THIS END WE BOTH LABOUR AND SUFFER REPROACH, BECAUSE WE TRUST IN THE LIVING GOD, who is the Saviour of all men, especially of those who believe.”

God tests the obedience of His children. Some instructions given by God may not be convenient, however, you need to obey.
God tests the obedience of those He wants to bless or lift.
Note:
• You may not see the rationale behind what God instructed you to do, do it all the same.
• Your flesh may want to argue or be angry with what God is taking you through, the test He has permitted in your life; just know that He understands what He is doing, all He requires from you is absolute obedience.
If you prove difficult to be controlled by God, He may allow you to have your way, but such action could be an abortion to His purpose for your life (Psalm 81:11,12).
God's wisdom is infinite, thus, you cannot query His understanding:
20 BUT INDEED, O MAN, WHO ARE YOU TO REPLY AGAINST GOD? WILL THE THING FORMED SAY TO HIM WHO FORMED IT, “WHY YOU MADE ME LIKE THIS?” 21 DOES NOT THE POTTER HAVE POWER OVER THE CLAY, FROM THE SAME LUMP TO MAKE ONE VESSEL FOR HONOUR AND ANOTHER FOR DISHONOUR?” (Romans 9:20,21 NKJV)
God trains and puts to the test, therefore cooperate with Him.
Whoever He wants to use; whom He wants to bless, such He prepares for where He is taking him/her (Genesis 22:1,2).
God will prepare you for your next place of assignment, that you may not disappoint Him:
1 VINDICATE ME, O LORD, FOR I HAVE WALKED IN MY INTEGRITY, I HAVE ALSO TRUSTED IN THE LORD; I SHALL NOT SLIP. 2 EXAMINE ME, O LORD, AND PROVE ME [test me]; TRY MY MIND AND MY HEART" (Psalm 26:1,2 NKJV).

Total trust is needed from you, simple obedience; wherever God leads, just obey and follow.
If you trust Him, you will obey when He leads. Greatness in God is as a result of your complete or unwavering obedience to the instructions given by Him, and not partial obedience (Hebrews 11:8).
• What has God told you to do lately?
• Those who follow God do obey, even when their life is at risk; they still follow and obey: "BY FAITH ABRAHAM OBEYED WHEN HE WAS CALLED TO GO OUT TO THE PLACE WHICH HE WOULD RECEIVE AS AN INHERITANCE. AND HE WENT OUT, NOT KNOWING WHERE HE WAS GOING" (Hebrews 11:8 NKJV).
28 THEN PETER BEGAN TO SAY TO HIM [Jesus], “SEE, WE HAVE LEFT ALL AND FOLLOWED YOU."
29 SO JESUS ANSWERED AND SAID, “ASSUREDLY, I SAY TO YOU, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, FOR MY SAKE AND THE GOSPEL'S,
30 “WHO SHALL NOT RECEIVE A HUNDRED FOLD NOW IN THIS TIME—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—AND IN THE AGE TO COME, ETERNAL LIFE."

Until you are willing to do whatever He tells you to do, you are not qualified for greatness, that is, His lifting and blessings.
Obedience is the key
• You may not know the reason for what God instructed, just obey.
• Your hopes might have been dashed; just keep following, He will not let you down nor disappoint you: “THOUGH HE SLAY ME, YET I WILL TRUST HIM" (Job 13:15 NKJV).
• Those who rise in God, in His kingdom, are like zombies. They do not move or do anything unless He commanded them to do it! They do nothing outside His will!
Thus, the secret of greatness in His kingdom is in total obedience.
18 "MOST ASSUREDLY, I SAY TO YOU, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, YOU WILL STRETCH OUT YOUR HANDS, AND ANOTHER WILL GIRD YOU AND CARRY YOU WHERE YOU DO NOT WISH.”
19 THIS HE SPOKE, SIGNIFYING BY WHAT DEATH HE WOULD GLORIFY GOD. AND WHEN HE HAS SPOKEN THIS, HE [Jesus] SAID TO HIM [Peter], “FOLLOW ME.' "
