WHOEVER KEEPS HIS WORD
“BUT WHOEVER KEEPS HIS WORD, TRULY THE LOVE OF GOD IS PERFECTED IN HIM. By this we know that we are in Him.”
1 John 2:5 (NKJV)
If you claim to be born again, then you have to live your life in line with the Word of God.
God will not be able to do all He intends to do in your life, if you fail to walk in accordance with His Word. The proof that you belong to God is walking in the light of His Word:
3 NOW BY THIS WE KNOW THAT WE KNOW HIM, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. 4 HE WHO SAYS, “I KNOW HIM,” AND DOES NOT KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS, IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM" (1 John 2:3,4 NKJV).
If you walk according to the dictates of your heart, God will not be able to do much in your life.
You have to obey, do the truth you have known or received through the written Word (Psalm 119:11; James 1:25) as well as the Word spoken to you specifically by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14).
Disregarding God's Word hampers Him, it hinders His move in your life.
The more chance you give to God in your life, the greater the things He does through your life.
You may not understand the fullness of what God has instructed you to do, however, you should obey anyway: “BY FAITH ABRAHAM OBEYED WHEN HE WAS CALLED TO GO OUT TO THE PLACE WHICH HE WOULD RECEIVE AS AN INHERITANCE. AND HE WENT OUT, NOT KNOWING WHERE HE WAS GOING" (Hebrews 11:8 NKJV).
The truth is:
• God will not be able to work beyond your level of obedience and submission.
• Your obedience is the key to receive whatever you want from Him.
Therefore strive to know what He wants on every matter of your life and do it.
Some believers live a militant life, they are always engaging in battles, fighting one enemy or the other every time.
Know that If you pray that God should deal with your enemies, He may not, until you started obeying His commands. That is, living according to His Word, walking in the light of His Word:
4 FOR THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE ARE NOT CARNAL BUT MIGHTY IN GOD FOR PULLING DOWN STRONGHOLDS, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalt itself against the knowledge of God, BRINGING EVERY THOUGHT INTO CAPTIVITY TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST, 6 AND BEING READY TO PUNISH ALL DISOBEDIENCE WHEN YOUR OBEDIENCE IS FULFILLED" (2 Corinthians 10:4-6).
Secret of rising and victorious living in the kingdom is a total obedience to God's Word.
You also commit everything you want to do to God's hand, that is, you want to know His mind on every step you are intending to take (Proverbs 3:5,6).
Until you get to this point, your rising in God could be a mirage, an illusion or a mere wishing.
• Focus on Jesus and His Word; obey all He commands—Jesus is our model and standard: “LOOKING UNTO JESUS, THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH, WHO FOR THE JOY THAT WAS SET BEFORE HIM ENDURED THE CROSS, DESPISING THE SHAME, AND HAS SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE THRONE OF GOD" (Hebrews 12:2 NKJV).
• Do not look at what people do to you or say to you, let your attention be on God and what He tells you to do (Hebrews 12:2).
• Do not copy evil things, bad things that others are doing: "BELOVED, DO NOT IMITATE EVIL BUT IMITATE GOOD. WHOEVER DOES GOOD IS FROM GOD; WHOEVER DOES EVIL HAS NOT SEEN GOD" (3 John 11 ESV).
8 FOR YOU WERE ONCE DARKNESS, BUT NOW YOU ARE LIGHT IN THE LORD. WALK AS CHILDREN OF LIGHT, 10 FINDING OUT WHAT IS ACCEPTABLE TO THE LORD.
11 AND HAVE NO FELLOWSHIP WITH THE UNFRUITFUL WORKS OF DARKNESS, BUT RATHER EXPOSE [reprove] THEM." Ephesians 5:8,10,11 (NKJV)
• Do not compromise the Word of God because you want to please somebody.
Whoever you compromised the Word of God to please will later become a whip or cane with which God will flog you.
Therefore, do not compromise your stand in God’s Word to please anyone.
“FOR DO I PERSUADE MEN, OR GOD? OR DO I SEEK TO PLEASE MEN? FOR IF I STILL PLEASE MEN, I WOULD NOT BE A BOND SERVANT OF CHRIST."
Galatians 1:10 (NKJV)
If you neglect this simple fact, that is, living your life in obedience to God’s Word; you may not be able to go far in the Christian faith.
You will not fail in Jesus’ name. Peace!
