TRX Claiming Update
Hi all. We have a small request that we would want everyone in the community to follow. Recently, we found out that sending frequent TRX rewards to users was getting very expensive. Unlike Steem, TRX requires Bandwidth to be able to make transfers to users who claim the rewards.
Users who had enabled autoclaim feature on apps such as woxauto and steem-fanbase ended up claiming even the curation reward of 0.001 Steem and the subsequent TRX rewards would also be sent to the users. Now, if the TRX rewards were sent for every single claim, it would cost the TRX foundation 0.280 TRX for a transfer of any amount.
This eventually ended up exhausting the TRX reward pool far quicker leading to the delay in TRX payments the past few months.
TRX Transaction
In the screenshot attached above, the TRX sent to the user is lower than the actual fee burnt for the transaction.
Currently, the TRX team has updated this logic. Now, the TRX rewards that are lower than 2 TRX will be accumulated for 3 days. After this time period, regardless of the amount of TRX that was accumulated, the payment would be sent out. While this is the current logic that is in place right now, this might change if the TRX team finds a better way to minimize the TRX transfer fee.
While this is a great way to minimize the TRX burnt in the form of transaction fees, we believe that we as a community can contribute further. If every one of us makes just 1 claim transaction per day, then this would certainly go a long way. Not only would it lower the burden on the TRX reward pool but would also reduce the scenario where TRX payments would have to stop for a while.
I hope that most of you in BOI would minimize the claims that you do. Thus allowing more TRX to be sent as rewards rather than Fees.
Update:
The threshold of TRX reward distribution has now been changed to 10 TRX and 7 days. This means that you would need to claim 10TRX to get it reward disbursed quickly. Or, the TRX rewards would be accumulated for a period of 7 days. After which, regardless of the TRX reward accumulated, you would get the TRX in your connected wallet.
It's a cost saving exercise we should must take care of it weekly idea is solid

The logic has now been updated from the TRX team. Your TRX reward would now be transferred to your wallet if you have claimed 10TRX rewards at once. Or else, the TRX would get accumulated for 7 days. After 7 days, regardless of the TRX accumulated, you will get the reward in your TRX wallet.
For example: If you claim 7 TRX worth rewards right now, it would not get transferred to you instantly. Instead, the would start accumulating on the backend. Once the accumulated reward reaches 10TRX, it will be transferred to your wallet.
Suppose, you are not able to accumulate 10TRX for whatever reason. In this case, even if you have accumulated 1 TRX, it will be transferred to your wallet after 7 days. I hope this makes it clear.

The problem used to happen previously because there were many who ran auto claim scripts. So, if you had 0.001 curation reward, it would get instantly claimed. This in turn would also trigger the transfer of the TRX reward. Causing a lot of TRX to be burned as transaction fees.
Our request to BOI community is to not claim your rewards very often. Claiming it just once a day should be enough in my opinion.

Weekly claim is best way at this time we can save energy/bandwidth.
I think sending the rewards once a week is better than sending them every 3 days. It will save a lot of resources.
