Computer Technology.
First Generation.
The development of the computing technology began at the outbreak of World War II. This was mainly due to military needs, as German submarines, which had sunk many British ships, sent coded radio transmissions to each other and to shore. And even after succeeding in getting out of the encoder (NIGMMA), the British thought that the process of decoding a radio broadcast should be almost instantaneous, which means very large. Numbers must be calculated. It was during this period that the first electronic computer colossus appeared, which, however, remained a military secret for thirty years. One of the distinguishing features of the first computers on an electronically based basis was the use of binary reaction code ("zero phase", which became an analog of the trigger function ("solid") in their tube processor system, which was a step forward. It was a big step.
Second Generation.
In 1956, physicists invented the first transistor, which not only succeeded in replacing the tube circuit of obsolete computers, but was also able to make it ten times smaller and more compact! During this historical period, the first computers appeared, which are called supercomputers to this day and are used in various electronic archives, libraries and large analytical organizations.
Third Generation.
From that moment on the, computing technology has developed very rapidly. Ten years later, the first transistor computer manufacturing sector, the first integrated circuits were invented, assembled and involved in the manufacture of computers, which for the first time introduced computer manufacturers. Allows you to think about starting a home personal computer.
Fourth Generation.
Integrated circuits were improved, by the end of the twentieth century it was more accurate to call them microcircuits because of the large number of transistors (up to millions!) That could accommodate them. Ultra-large integrated circuits are something that still stands in the form of a personal computer in everyone's home. In fact, it was the end of computer development, and computing technology has not diminished, but it has not.
Fifth Generation.
This is the kind of computer we can see on the tablets, ebooks and other pocket computers. Initially, they were conceived as a way to make computers as compact and simple as possible, but they were not as extensive as ordinary, stationary PCs or laptops. But they have firmly established their position in the market and have maintained their limited popularity for decades.
